Almost over engineered, 😉😉 but great setup, everything thought of. Worked in a 7500 seater auditorium back in South Africa also doing live broadcast and recordings, using pretty much same software. Main difference is we used a Soundcraft Vi6 that had madi sent to to a separate mac for the stream audio mixdown and that controlled the audio and video time alignment before it goes out. ATEM is full of gremlins, always had issues with it but no other product that could do what they did. Our camera switcher, producer and vision mixer was all in one enclosed booth and the online stuff in another booth. Also running foyer screens and audio feeds from the main booth. Amazing how such a small church can do all this. And it is true technical is so much part of the church, just joined a new church and hope to work with them, it will make people come and worship and grow the church from the current state of things I believe. Thanks for the video and bit of inspiration to pick this up again.

@solusfides Жыл бұрын
@@RylandRussell you open it up. It's pretty simple. They have a video on KZbin that walks you through the process. One tip-off that it's time to clean it, is that you'll smell it. Our problem is, it is occasionally left on. When that happens the small drip of fluid into the chamber will burn and collect. Make sure the chamber and nozzles are both cleaned. We keep a small drill bit in our kit that can fit into the nozzles.

I enjoyed your video and your perspective on this design in worship environments. It makes me wonder, though, at what point does all this technology - audio, video, and lighting - become a distraction from the real message of the Bible? I've been to too many churches that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on equipment, but instead of enhancing the experience, it ends up drawing attention to the band members and all the concert like elements away from the Word. How do we ensure these tools serve their purpose without overshadowing the true focus of worship?

Hi Ryland, I love your videos and have recently gone from Worship/Tech pastor to Lead Pastor of the same church. I love watching your videos and they are packed with information on how to get good looks & sounds on my kind of budget! At this point, the disconnect for me is that I have a passion to make that happen and care very much about it, but the volunteer culture here isn't at a point where the team knows enough or cares enough to produce this level of quality. Can you speak to how you created a culture that cares, and what kind of training you give your team to make things sound great when you're not in the booth? I know you automate some things... Is that so that you can eliminate the operator variables?

How do the goals of our tech / creative teams align with the biblical mission of the church? I love all the tech, but how do we keep it Jesus focused? I’ve seen tech team members drive hard for a few years, burn out and leave the church completely. But at least they scored a full stage LED wall and a sweet line array… God help us all!

How do you connect the little monitors on the desk to pro-presenter? How do you cable manage under the desk in the front tier? I really struggle with finding a good way to cable manage.
@wilrobbins7595 Жыл бұрын
As far as the ATEM latency goes, you could potentially try switching everything over to 60p(59.94). And see if you have the same amount of latency. With converting and what not, anytime you convert/in an out of something, you add a frame of latency. So 60p will essentially cut the latency duration in half. So if you’re still having the same duration of latency at 60, I would say something else is causing the issue.
@RylandRussell Жыл бұрын
Ya 60 should be less visible latency, might be interesting to test setting my decklink to 60 and my atem to 60. That’s the weird thing, we aren’t asking the atem to convert anything, it’s all native 29.97. 🤷🏼♂️

Behringer/Midas P system needed to design a way to properly locate all of the IEM transmitters in a rack where they should be so an antenna combiner and single antenna can be used. Digital Audio Labs has it and provides more channels, groups, effects, etc., over Dante. Re: SDi. SDi is the way to go. It has the least latency and is the professional broadcast connection standard. HDMI has more latency than SDi and 14 connection processes, making it difficult to use without pro displays with RS232 to sync powering. Most churches don't want to pay for those. NDI has waaay too much latency. A QSYS system would be an ideal replacement for control and replacement of all of those consumer-based parts. I work in Tulsa occasionally, but there are a few good guys/companies down there who could bat this out of the park. Bass problems in a room are geometry and dimensions related. On-wall treatment will only do a little, if anything, below 100Hz. It's physics. Where are the subs? The EVAs are ok. But I have found the transition from LF to Sub a little funky. I know Don at TES in Tulsa still has success with this system. I never used EVs subs with the EVAs. For spoken word, mono is best in that room with those speakers and that mixer. That said, having a Dynacord MXE-5 would bring new life to those EVAs, and you could employ a switchable matrix. The music preset could allow L-R-L mixing to provide a "stereo" mix to each half of the room. The speech preset would allow mono for spoken word. You could do an LCR, but the outside arrays need to be shaded and delayed to reinforce the center array. This might not work for IMAG when you deploy it. Again, all doable with the MXE-5. L-R-L would be more fun and translate the time-based guitar and stereo instrument effects to the audience better than LCR.
