Centrally Located Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel

The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel certainly has location, location, location and is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. As Marriott Gold members, we had access to the Lounge and snarfed down breakfast, tea (good cakes), and "Happy Hour" daily.
Since there are many hotels to choose from in Amsterdam, I don't know if Renaissance would be my first choice.

Hi Sheila, Nice video on the Renaissance, which is a perfectly fine hotel. Shame you didn't get upgraded though. I guess the second room was better considering the views, unfortunately flooded bathrooms happen every now and then. Looks like a nice breakfast and the food in the club lounge looks perfectly fine as well, with some typical dutch snacks the Kaassoufle and Bitterbal. how did you like them? Brendan

Like my grandson once said when I suggested he may not like the carrot cake in the kitchen, he replied, "I like all cake." Steve and I feel the same about food. There is very little we don't like! All incidents are funny in hindsight. But after an early morning and day of stressful traveling, nothing is funny. Thanks for looking on the bright side of the not so "bright" day. A good night sleep made it all better...

Nice video. The snack you showed in your video is called kaassoufle (melted cheese in a dough wrap). It's very common here. It's considered a kind of junk food.

Sheila you must tell me when your next flight with SWISS will be! I am the person who has previously wrote you on your videos working as cabin crew :) Hope you had a nice time in Amsterdam, my parents were also there last week starting a boat cruise through to Budapest. I hate to color people's perceptions of this hotel but I'm positive there are many better places to stay for a lot less money.
