Centre Takes Action Against Pune IAS Trainee | Centre To Verify Puja Khedkar's Fraud Candidature
Puja Khedkar, the Maharashtra probationary IAS officer who was transferred over alleged misuse of power, demanded a separate office, a car, and a house for herself before joining as Assistant Collector in Pune, her WhatsApp chat with an official at the collectorate revealed. The chat shows her directing the officer to arrange what she demanded before her joining on June 3.
"Pls get the designated cabin m vehicle done before I join on 3rd. Later there will be no time. If it is not possible let me know, I will talk to collector sir accordingly," she told the officer.
The District Collector had flagged these unusual demands to the Chief Secretary. In his report, he suggested that it would be inappropriate to continue Khedkar’s training in Pune and mentioned that it might lead to administrative complications.

Besides this, govt spends upto 3.5 crores a year on one top bureaucrat which includes a bungalow, at least 10 staff including bungalow peons, personal household office assistants, secretarial assistants, in some posts a control room with a personal telephone exchange, at least four official cars for office and personal use, allowances for entertainment of official guests et all. They win hands down compared to a corporate person.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. We need huge reforms for the entire UPSC system. No use just taking action against her and forgetting about this ongoing systemic issue. This is the current state of our badly functioning bureaucratic system from its terrible candidate selection process to inefficient public service delivery. We the public can voice our discontent and it is possible remove a corrupt, incompetent politicians through us voting in elections, but corrupt, incompetent UPSC officers have no accountability at all to the public.

Another notable point is the UPSC may stop the practice of giving umpteen number of chances to candidates to switch over or write IAS examination repeatedly ,who has been selected into any one of the constitutional posts once What is the difference between an IPS and IAS IFS IRS before law. To begin with,Ifs was the sought after cadre. How come IAS in due course taking IFS status.The Apex court may take cognizance of the case or our PIL warriors may take this suo Motu and stop the practice limitting the chance to first plus one more instead of giving infinite times until one gets into IAS through backdoor or lobbying.

How come she was given a posting without properly verifying her claims? she should have been suspended first from service till her investigation is completed and once proven , she should be dismissed and barred from getting into any civil services and should face strict punishment that one else dares to do such cheating and misuse of power. The reservation for SC/ST/OBC & other sections is meant to give their a fair chance for uplifting them in the society. The misuse of the quota by some or rather many like these is depriving the poor & downtrodden of these benefits. As a rule anyone from these categories whose any one parent, either father or mother, has got a Government job in Class A, Class B category or has retired as a Class A or Class B officer, their children should not be given this quota. That is the only was this benefit will reach the very poor who deserve it. Am sure appropriate action will be taken by the Government to set things right here.
