Centrepin Trotting - Mixed species from a small river in Surrey

Whilst working away in Surrey, we managed a couple of quick afternoon sessions using our Centrepin reels and light trotting tactics.
The video aims to show how we aim to read the river and adjust our baits to pick up on bigger stamp fish and catch different species across a session on the water.
Highlights include:
- Some clonking Dace
- A surprise Barbel caught on the float in dramatic fashion by Niall!

Am I going mad or is have you spooled your centrepin with line backwards? I thought you’d reel it forwards with its little handles to bring line in?

I am from Canada and use centerpins for chinook salmon and steelhead we palm the reel here why I’ve noticed in england they hold it differently. Why?
