The problem is they don't want a piece. They want it all, with no regard to it's communities or respect of its natural resources.Did you watch the video at all?

It ia one thing to expose a problem (which the film does well, and even to suggest needs. However, it is much more difficult to find real solutions. Two men say they need private investment, but there is nothong to indicate what is in it for investors, what type of investors, or how they plan to get someone to invest.

Policies favor a segment of society at the expense of the most vulnerable among us. The Fajardo case is yet another example of the vulnerable not being seriously considered. Unfortunately this is the default pattern in our current economic system. Good policies would seriously address who would benefit and who would not and how both can be considered and addressed to the satisfaction of most. We have had isolated instances of good policies but it requires good and honest political leadership partnering with community activism. In addition, this video points to why a community elects to continue poor leadership in power. Puerto Rico had, at one point in time, the highest voter participation rate of many states within the continental U.S. There was a period of a great deal of public education emanating from political parties. That appears to have been lost, compromised, or taken for granted. Some renewed civic education activism from the grassroots is called for and probably needs to be seriously resourced. Fajardo was the birthplace of my grandfather and my heart goes out to this community and the communities across Puerto Rico so impacted. Thank you for this video.
