Depends on the shows. I've noticed that at large festivals, pits will suck since a lot of people are just waiting for a couple of the headliners. At more smaller shows with 2-3 bands playing, the pits will be going the entire concert.

Yeah, Vinny was on their first 2 albums before leaving the band, along with the lead guitarist. And passed away from puffer fish poisoning by consuming. Didn't need a license back then, but his death helped made that a law.

RIP Vinny. My father is actually is actually the other guitarist in this video playing the white guitar. He did the necrology demo with them but some bad shit went down and he got no credit. Said Vinny was one of the heaviest hitters on the drums he knew.

Many of these "pop" metal bands actually rage though... Enforced, Power Trip, Midnight, and Municipal Waste are some of the best pits I've been in. I also enjoy old school thrash/death metal, but don't limit these newer bands though, they're keeping metal alive 🤘

I was @ a Metal Open Air Festival and the Band Fueled by Fire played(covered) this song AND I was like the ONLY person going nuts,because all the other guys didn'T even know Demolition Hammer ...after the Gig I talked to FbF drummer and guitarist and I have to say they are very cool and straight up Metalhead ..We really got fucked up that evening @ the bar^^ ->It was Queens of Metal Open Air in Germany and it was their first German Gig I think ... Demolition Hammer - 1990 - Tortured Existence - Century Media Records Нью-йоркская трэшевая группа, которая выпустила всего три диска! Но что это были за диски! Сегодня послушаем номер первый - Tortured Existence. Команда была сформирована еще в 1986-ом под названием Overlord, но уже в следующем году поменяла на сабжевое, думаю Овелордов тогда была овердо... . Но это только версия. В 1988-ом и 1989-ом музыканты записали по демо-записи, обе были высоко оценены метал-сообществом. И вот собственно диск Tortured Existence, он был выпущен, как и полагалось тогда, в виде винила, компакта и кассеты на Century Media Records. Включаем … и тут-то сразу - минут через пять становится ясно, отчего этот альбом, в частности, и сама группа, в целом, стали классикой жанра. Диск выпущенный во времена, когда трэш собственно уже склеивал ласты - как отмечают некоторые критики, оказался в некотором смысле ОПЯТЬ прорывным, или, если точнее, вернул на время поклонникам жанра уверенность, что с их любимым стилем не так всё и плохо. Да, сразу нужно заметить, что «Tortured Existence» во многом это и Death/Thrash Metal, ибо команда запрессовала в альбом много разрушительной энергии и сумасшедшего забоя. Думается, вот именно из-за этого фэны стиля и полюбили этот диск. В контексте правки стилистики надо бы отметить работу толкового барабаннера Vinny Daze (R.I.P. 1996). Зацените драммерную тему в композиции Infectious Hospital Waste. Вместе с басистом ударник дает такого жару, что гитаристам остается только соответствовать установленной скороcти. Так как гитариста - два, то это вполне им удается, это уже видно на открывающем трэке с необычным названием .44 Caliber Brain Surgery. Но скажу вам такую вещь, эти два струнника нигде на альбоме не переоценивают свои способности и сосредотачиваются на жестоких риффах и небольших, но достаточно броских соляках, которые иногда по замыслу режиссера как будто припрятаны во второй-третий слой звука, например, как в трэке «Neanderthal» . Основной вокалист Steve Reynolds (он же и басист) - обладатель своеобразного голоса именно в смысле модуляции, и как раз в смысле издевательских, хороррных и даже безумных интонаций. Иногда кажется, что он не только выпевает слова, но и часто их выплевывает. Среди трэш-вокалистов таких ярких специалистов мало. В подмогу ему бэк-вокалом выступает гитарист James Reilly - для создания специфического трэшевого эффекта лающего контр-вокала. Ныне Demolition Hammer реинкарнировался и с большим успехом выступает на металлических музыкальных фестивалях. Чем и собирается заниматься далее. Даты установлены уже на 2025 год.
