fatdudeswag404 Why? Plup deserves to lose imo. He gave up being the best Samus and instead is just another Sheik much like how Shroomed switch to Sheik, but at least Shroomed can takes games off of m2k.

Fieryvortex48 That is a stupid line of thought. Why be known as the best ___ if you feel as if your character isn't able to earn you the credit you deserve. Furthermore Plup is a top tier Sheik not "just another Sheik." He has already brought more to the Sheik metagame than 90% of them showing that the Fox Sheik match up is more even than we have been led to believe. M2k is nearly irrelavent in the melee meta he is unable to keep up with the top names such as Shroomed, Leffen, Armada, Hbox, Mango and many others. This may not be reflected in the power rankings but it is seen in his placements in tournaments. This is not to say he isn't amazing but he is now a far cry from the best Sheik or Marth.

DontThinkOnit Mew2King is irrelevant, eh? That explains why Plup got 3-0'd by him both times in Sheik ditto's while Shroomed is able to beat him.He's still taking sets off of people like SFAT and anyone below top 6. The only player he really struggles with is Shroomed. Plup honestly is just another Sheik. Why would he choose Sheik over better characters like Fox or Falco? Because Sheik is brain dead. Her tech chases aren't hard to execute.

Awesome game. Leffen is getting ridiculous, and Plup is so solid. It's nice to see people outside the top 5 really bring their a-game, and it's not the same people fighting each other over and over. At this point it should really be a fight for top 10, because all of those guys are super talented.

***** If you hold your control stick perpendicular to the direction a strong hit sent your character, you can influence that trajectory to help you live longer (survival DI). You can also mixup the way you do it to escape out of combos too (combo DI)

***** Also, if you smash the control stick in any direction during multi-hit moves (like Fox down aerial or rapid jabs) it helps you to escape from them. That's called smash DI

I was actually curious lol. DI (Directional influence) is basically of the most useful defensive mechanics in smash. In Melee, there are a few types of DI, the first and the one most people learn first is survival DI, which is basically holding perpendicular to the direction you are sent to influence your trajectory (as the other guys said). Smash DI is moving your character during the frames of hitlag you are put into after being hit by a move (the pause after being hit) Some moves have more than others. Moves wih a lot of hitlag are samus charge shot, falcon knee, etc. You can incorporate the two to heavily influence where you go and live a lot longer than you would without it. For example. if you are being hit by falcon's knee towards the right blastzone, proper survival DI would be up-left, but to maximize your DI, you would want to hold c stick left (C stick automatically smash DI's on the last frames of hitlag delivered by a move, making it actually very effective on multihit moves) and rotate the control stick from down, upto the proper survival di. This would give you about 4 manual inputs of smash di, aswell as the ASDI from c stick and the proper survival DI. If you are being hit by something like, Falco/Fox Down air, and you want to avooid a shine follow-up, you won't survival DI at all, you will only smash DI, using the C-stick in the direction you would like to move, aswell as moving the control in the same direction, in between the notches on the control stick to keep getting multiple sdi inputs, pushing your character far enough away to avoid the shine hitbox. These are just the basics of DI, do more research on your own, there are really good resources for Melee on the internet. Oh, and fuck you bryyyybryyyy

If you win a game in a bo3, you ban a stage that your opponent can counter pick to. After plup won game 2, he tells leffen that he bans FD, so leffen goes stadium and can't go FD

I can't tell if you're trolling, but Samus loses to Fox. That being said, it's a close MU due to Samus' tools to box well in addition to her weight, despite her flaws. Leffen doesn't really know the Samus MU. What Samus players does he play against? There are two known in Europe (Cyr and another I forget the name of). They don't even play too often. Point is, that's why Leffen, let alone a lot of people in general, don't know how to fight Samus. It's because they haven't fought her enough. She's sort of like a mediocre yet odd combination of Peach and Sheik.

***** No I am serious. And it's true. While samus does technically lose the mu, that's only when the fox is playing the mu perfectly. Foxes lose to samus players all day. And it's cuz fox's have to be perfect and insanely safe, or else they die in 1 hit cc downsmash. can't up throw u air. can't waveshine up smash if they di away. Can't ledge guard, can't shield pressure. Literally all of fox's best tools are taken away in the mu, forcing to completely change your style into a game of micro spacing. And the whole time making no mistakes, cuz the moment you do, you die with no effort from the samus. Samus literally counters spacies by default. Falco is a little better though cuz of lasers and down air, cuz of the priority and it can't be cc'd. You're obviously blind to how the game works in reality. Go watch some samus vs spacies mus, the samus always wins despite the player being way lower on the pr. There was a set between westballz and hugs at mayhem for example. West loses with his best character (falco) > switches to his second best and counterpicks stage (fox) loses .then finally switches to falcon and convincingly 3-0's him. It was actually destruction. And how do you explain that? It's mus. Literally no one knows how to play samus mu, it's not just leffen. Only mango knows the mu from the spacies side. There might be someone else but idk who. I also know this from my own experience. I struggle super hard with my two best characters (fox,falco) against samus, yet have no problem when I use falcon. And it's not just me, every spacie I know has the same problem. If you don't believe me, go watch hugs or plup face a spacie who's better than them and see who wins. I already gave 2 examples. In conclusion, yes fox technically wins the mu, but the fox has to work insanely hard, and play super smart inorder to win. Not to mention changing playstyle 180 degrees. And as far as records go, samus (almost) always wins in tourneys. But then gets knocked out by shieks or puff or whatever bad mu she has. I literally can't remember the last time I saw hugs or plup lose to a fox as samus.
