This is by far the best cleaning/detailing tutorial that I've ever seen. You show, rather than just talk. You say what's needed, not unimportant information. Great, great, great video. Well done. Thank you!!!

I have a 3rd gen with 334k. I’ve replaced seat covers, carpet and headliner. These are a gem.
@anthonygiordano39912 жыл бұрын
Are the carpet and headliner direct fits? Where do you get those at?
@BernieMittens2 жыл бұрын
@@anthonygiordano3991 I took it to a professional, so it was direct fit

@@BernieMittens - I heard the headliner on the 4Runner is one piece so no chance of sagging. I’m looking at an out of state 1999 with 218K miles on it.. listed for $15,500! Not sure I should buy at that price. I’m having a local Toyota mechanic do a pre-inspection. It looks very clean but hoping it would last me another 20 years if I buy it. You think that’s realistic?

I bought a 3rd gen, 2000 SR5 by just dumb luck. A friend of a friend kind of thing, and I had no clue what an absolute perfect little rig. I’m just getting back on my feet after being homeless here in the Silicon Valley. It has only 259,000 mi on it and it is in immaculate condition. The paint, the upholstery, the suspension are just cherry and someone put nice aftermarket fluted and cross drilled disc brakes with new calipers painted red. The kicker- I got it for 3 grand!! 😂😂🤣🤣💪💪🙏🙏 gotta love the 3rd gen 4Runner!!

Dont forget to clean out the drain holes in the sunroof! The leaves and dirt tend to clog those up and will cause heavy rain to leak through the headliner

@@JLeeChron - I have a question for you. I’m looking at a 1999 4Runner with 218K miles (SR5 4x4). They supposedly replaced the timing belt, water pump and put a small lift with new tires/wheels. Carfax shows 3 previous owners. It failed emissions three times with the last owner (then it passed).. but thats a concern. It looks very clean for its age and I don’t see dents or rust (west coast truck). I’m having it inspected by a local mechanic to get their opinion. It’s listed for $15,500. Do you think this is worth it? I’ve never owned one before.. so a little nervous. But I keep seeing all these people that say they get theirs for $5K or $7K.. I don’t know where they are getting those deals at but I can’t seem to find a decent one for under $10K. Can I get your opinion?
@JLeeChron2 жыл бұрын
@@anthonygiordano3991 sure-the opinion, West coast good, little rust. 218k -lots of life left if maintained. Overall cleanliness? It would be worth it to take to a trusted mechanic/ shop for a leakdown tests, compression etc. going over everything brakes and they can tell if the belt is newer. Also the water pump and idler pulley needs done on that as well as a few seals. Id like paperwork on it also. what kind of lift matters, block vs.

I paid 9k for a 99 runner, 181,000, it sounds expensive but the previous owner spent $7600 in parts and labor in the last 40k miles, it feels like a new vehicle, Arizona truck no rust, new tires, new brake assembly, ball joints, steering rack, struts, Kenwood radio, all fluids change and I mean all, valve covers, tune up, rear axle seals, rear brake drums and pads, It's not 4x4 or stick but i couldn't pass on this one

At about 8:40 you were using a flame torch on the plastic. What does that do specifically? Curious to know. Nice job.
@JLeeChron5 жыл бұрын
EPHS the slight amount of heat brings the oils in the plastic to the surface. Makes it look new and also hardens it up just a little bit so that it will not absorb dirt. It makes it look new. And if it’s cold the heat makes it plyable for reinstallation if you do it quick
