Fisherman for me is kinda weird. Super hard early waves. But if u can survive past them i feel that the DMG snowballs so hard that later waves are easier than many other characters (even if I buy 5+ baits)

To get ahead of the Bait enemies with low speed run through them as they charge and keep going. They do very little damage the first few waves, at wave 4 this becomes less reliable.

I just finished a Spear Fisherman run. It was pretty rough in the early waves. But once you get enough damage to get in the corner and kill the bait aliens before they start the bullet hell it's a lot of fun. Thematically spear fishing was satisfying.

I played fisherman as my like 4 the ever character, and bought a shit ton of bait straight away. Found two I was dead in less than 5 seconds.

Wow I buy a lot more bait the first couple waves. Just outscale the damage fast enough to have them get 1-2 shoted

Good video. The question would be if you rolled the torch would you have had a different opinion on the nuclear launcher? I may try this setup I am having a bit of problems with the fisherman.

I think if I rolled the torch we never make it to the nuclear launcher! If I did survive that long I'd probably still have skipped it though, if it was winnable with torch that would be cool enough that I'd want to do it.

I have! I've done guides for every single character - for Lucky specifically I've also done another build with a random weapon which ended up also being a great way to win with the character, so you even have multiple options!

this is an old video, but if you are DEFINITELY going to buy "at least one bait" you should buy it on the FIRST shop, to avoid the situation like when you go to wave 9 and had two shop slots locked but you wanted one more bait so you still spend twenty on reroll. that was not efficient.

I don't think the fisherman is a hard character… The first 4 or 5 waves are insanely hard, but after that, it's a lot easier since you've build up so much damage. Like if you try for an hour (and don't lose your patience because of resets), you're almost guaranteed to clear danger 5 at least once. I can't say the same for any other character except maybe the engineer.

Sure! The Fisherman isn't one of the hardest to get a win with, but it's one of the hardest to consistently win with. For a random weapons challenge where I'm going for win streaks, consistency matters much more than lategame power.

Honestly sucha clunky character, just feels useless regardless of what items you have unless you get bait, but even one bait just overwhelms the screen with projectiles and you insta die, could do with re-balancing as even Danger 0 is impossible with him unless you get extremely lucky

What are you talking about? The Fisherman is by far one of the most powerful and easiest characters. You can end round 3 with over 136% damage which turns even the most horrible weapon into god. Unlimited extra XP, Damage, and Mats for free.... I enjoy you vids though. Not trying to trash too hard. First 2 rounds spend 100% of your money on lures and skip everything else. Don't worry about killing anything just run away for the massive early DMG gain (and you lose no $ due to harvest gains). If you're not spending damn near all your $ on Bait you're not playing the character. This guy scales so fast. By wave 9 you should have over 500% dmg.

Actually it eas pretty difficult for me at least. It took me over 50 tries (most of them was wave 3-4 deaths tho) and finally I won with it by buying 3 baits max* every wave and not buying any baits in last 5 waves to play it safe. So yeah it can be very difficult for some of us I guess
