Hello Ahmed, thanks for the awesome video, I just a question if the works are just a quantity addition, but the change is to affect works already complete (eg move a team down three levels cut into a wall to adjust pipes) how will the price be calculated as this task if more difficult than the SOR suggest? thank you for your time.

Thanks for watching. Regarding your question, I believe the case you discussed is an additional scope that is not part of the contract (modification of existing / completed works), and hence this is type 3 (change in quantities and rates). For these new works, define the scope - in items - and for each item put the rate. For the items that have a rate in BoQ, use it, and for the new items, establish a new rate and substantiate it. Hope that concludes the case. Note: “the completed works can be claimed under the original contract, and the modification will be claimed separately under the VO”.

It depends on what has been agreed in the contract. Some times it is agreed that if materials price increased more than a pre-agreed percentage then it becomes variation
