Great vid as always. I have the initial Crazed set at launch and the lines faded from usage. Quite unfortunate as I really like the set. The white set is still doing great.

try to wash them, crazing is basically micro fractures in glaze (glass) , the cracks probably just filled with your skin cells and random particles

@@v000000000000v the official fix from cerakeys was to boil them in water…. But to keep removing them from the switches. Which would break first? The switch stem or my mind?

Yeahhh unfortunately it was a limited run. Not sure if any Jelly Epoch's are being sold on MechMarket, but you can give it a shot there. Aftermarket prices have really gone down so maybe you can find one for MSRP or even cheaper 🤞

I don’t think I’d get these right now, as Im using a QK75n and it has a very good, clacky sound using a POM plate with panda switches. However, I think these would be perfect for a quiet office use build, it would be soooo satisfying

Just received my Ducky Shine 7. Already lubed the MX Black switches and painted the switch plate with Musou Black to reduce the glare between keys. Looking really nice now! But I don't like the cheap feeling caps. I am thinking about the Cerakey black with white legend caps. I want that glassy, smooth feel. My old keys were worn smooth and feel much better! But they have zero shine through. I understand the Cerakeys will glow a little, but the black ones will be very dark.. Do think these will look nice in person on an RGB keyboard? Or can you recommend any shine-through double shot keys for Cherry MX, that are smooth, not textured with sharp edges, like the Ducky stock keys? Thank you!

Hi! So the reason why Ducky keycaps probably felt rough to you was because they're made of PBT plastic which usually has a "rougher" texture. It does help prevent shine (this is when your keycaps start to shine after prolonged use) which I know a lot of people dislike, but from your comment, it seems like you prefer that look/feel (which is all cool!). Like you mentioned, Cerakeys will have that smooth glossy feel to them, but won't really allow light through based on the color way you have chosen. I think that they'll still look nice, but I'm also someone who doesn't care too much for RGB 😀. I must admit that shine through keycaps aren't super big in the "custom keyboard" hobby at least not from "high end" manufacturers, but they do still exist. I'm not 100% sure on quality since I've never sued them myself, but I do know that both Drop and Razer make shine through keycaps. Akko had made several sets with shine through, but I'm not sure if they're still making them. Keychron and Glorious I think do also make shine-through sets, so maybe you can check them out as well. Hope this helps!

@@kirin_ Thanks for all the input! Yeah, I don't get the obsession with textured materials. Human fingers are designed to grip smooth surfaces. They glide right over those surfaces which resist our finger prints. Imagine that. This is also the reason I won't give up my Mk1 Razer Death Adder. Do any of the other more common materials, such as ABS, tend to have a smoother feel? That said, I think it's the Ducky stock keys' sharp edges and corners that are more off putting. I feel like the edges catch my fingers a little bit, instead of gravitating naturally to the center of the key. I don't like RGB for RGB's sake, either.. But having the legends light up does look really cool. I'll keep looking and check out these other brands you mentioned. If only the Cerakeys weren't so expensive, OR had a return window..

@@zackw4941 yeah ABS will be smoother than PBT and tend to shine easier. Like you said though, it could also be the keycap profile that's catching your fingers, so that might another thing you want to look into (though options could be limited if you want shine through).

Not for the most part. I usually just touch type unless I have to type numbers or something.

What you think about cerakey compared to Sa-P and MT3 for max thocc?

For my personal preference, I prefer Cerakey but it's mainly because I prefer cherry profile overall and I'm not the biggest fan of the legends on MT3 and SA-P

True so they get rid of ceramic stem, and change back to plastics lol kinda weird to have a mix

Yeah I did hear that being an issue. Plastic stems seemed to have worked well, unless you saw reports of those cracking as well? It sounds kind of weird on paper to have ceramic and plastic, but in practice I feel like it worked way better compared to V1 since it won't destroy your stems and was a better fit for me.
