Great thorough, proper video on this process! When they start to degrade even after water spot remover, then it's time for spray sealants to get you through the rest of the harsh winter. I recently used Nanoskin Spot Free to get rid of a hammered vehicle with water spots from a sprinker that was sitting under the sprinker and baked in the sun for 6 weeks, worked wonders!

Great video, as always. I definitely agree on not choosing too harsh of a wheel cleaner. We tend to think about being gentle to our paint on the rest of the car, but forget that our wheels are also painted, and might not think twice about putting a really aggressive cleaner on the wheels. Certainly there are times it is called for, but often just a gentle soap is enough to do the job, especially if you wash your car frequently.

Once again Frank great full depth video. I’ve been having great results with DIY 5/3 year stack coating on my gloss black rims. Definitely the DIY water spot remover is the best out there. I’m always amazed at how it can decontaminate lower panels. Keep up the informative no nonsense videos my friend. Always look forward to your videos.

I ceramic coated the winter wheels for both my truck and my wife's SUV with CARPRO CQuartz 2.0 last fall so they have gone through one Atlantic Canadian winter already and so far the coating is holding up quite well. Before I put them on again next week I'll probably top them with Armour Detail Supply Ceramic spray just to help them out a bit. I don't wash the vehicles during the winter as my garage isn't set up for washing in so the coatings take a beating. Overall though the effort was worth it as the wheels are so much easier to clean in the spring.

Great video Frank! Very well thought out presentation and demonstration as always sir. I can't wait to see how fast your channel progresses! I have no doubt you will be at 20,000, 50,000, even 100,000 subscribers in no time at all. Keep up the great work sir. You are the most trusted detailing professional on KZbin in my opinion. Your opinion is the one I trust the most. There's far too much 'hype' out there about a lot of different products and you have no idea if these people are secretly being paid by the product manufacturer or getting some type of kick back through free products or credit towards their future purchases, etc. You know what I mean. I have no problem for a KZbinr making money from their OWN VIDEOS! Not hyping up a product that is actually a zonker/JUNK! I trust your opinions and know you will give an honest assessment of the product you are reviewing and/or demonstrating. Thank you for your honesty Frank. Hope to meet you in person some day! Thank you for taking your valuable time to produce these informative videos.

The process is a chore, but I'm a big fan of coated wheels. I also run two sets of wheels and tires for winter/non-winter, so even with a "one year" wheel coating you only have to do it every two years at worst. With a good coating, super high pH cleaners just aren't needed on a regular basis. ADS Wheel is pH neutral and Koch Chemie MWC is nearly neutral (pH 5.5) so I use one of those as my "prewash" on a cool dry wheel, let it dwell, then pressure wash it off. The tiny amount of crud left is then easily removed with a rinseless wash to finish. As you point out, DIY Water Spot Remover is amazing, especially on winter wheels that are getting hammered by salt, sand or whatever else is getting put on the roads.

Great vid Frank, and on time as well! I just finished polishing off the dying DLUX off my summer wheels, it was a crap coating for me at least, it lasted 4 months with my high performance high dusting Mpower brakes, took a LOT of work (the wheels where new but i didn't had the PXE-80 then, did the polishing with a cone on a drill) btw it was the same cool wheels 791M :) I hated also applying it, super grabby, took huge amounts of leveling, left 1 huge high spot also, but the main thing was it low durability, it got clogged after 3 months and needed to use DIY waterspot remover constantly on them (not economical at all) and in the end it was barely hanging on. Also i noticed i needed always manual agitation with them (i don't like iron removers often on wheels, they promote rust on other suspension components) oh and i only drive in good weather - never in rain or snow, but i drive it HARD. Severly disappointed with Carpro DLUX. Now i used the PXE-80, faster polishing (by a lot) and Gyeon Rim, a little better experience, less grabby, easier leveling. Will see on this one, if it's no good I'm out with wheel coatings. Still one thing i would add is all you guys need to consider this - is it a sport car wheels your coating? Then prepare for diminsihed coating performance (BY A LOT), more heat cycles, a LOT more dust, a lot more cleaning wich diminishes coating performance. On my daily Toyota CHR that is not garaged like my BMW, i drive it all weather, all the time, i didnt use a coating on it (ever), no wheels off cleaning at all, only Sonax BSD from time to time (last applied in the summer) - still beads like hell, easier to clean BY A MILE. But it's not a sport's car, not near driven as fast or as hard.

Hey Vic a lot to unwind here for sure! Love the 791m for sure. Gyeon Rim used to be easier now the EVO version needs a ''sooner'' wipeoff to avoid the grabby glue feel but it's awesome if you wipeoff early. We'll have the chance to test rim evo durability in the upcoming months. did you apply gyeon rim older version or EVO ? Talk soon Vic, appreciate you brother✌️

lol from the thumbnail i thought you were going to trash brake buster (on of my favorites) but you’re saying NOT to use BB or adams because they can shorten the life of the ceramic coating … interesting 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 thank you for the video, wheels off is a pain in the butt, appreciate your hard work 🤘🏽🐿️💨

Brake Buster is ok because it's 10pH. This ceramic is resistant to 11pH, but if u want save ceramic for more time use only pH neutral products.

@Detailing_DogmaКүн бұрын
Hey Joshua, Terminator IMO is off the shelf product, it's okay but sits below Tar-x and I'd put Citrol 266 at the top with paint thinners. I have both Tar-x and the big guns whenever the situation calls for. Tar-x doesnt work well for paint transfer and heavy stuff like road paint. Cheers✌️✌️

Waste of time in Canada for winter wheels. Clean the wheel before winter comes. Hit it with Geyon wet coat during your winter maintenance washes. No ceramic wheel coating is surviving 2 months of Canadian winter. p.s. - you’re the new Pan now that he has sold out. Love your presentation.

Wheel cleaners are sparking my interest ATM. Logic has it using a car shampoo on your wheels is a better idea. After all, paint is paint. I use brake buster at 5:1 and Gyeon iron wheel cleaner once a month. I'm thinking of just using a more concentrated amount of Carpro reset in a spray bottle and use that as my weekly wheel cleaner instead. It's got lubrication, cleaning power and gentle on the paintwork. Maybe 30ml in a litre bottle and topped up with some deionised water- as I'm using a spotless wash as my rinse. It'll save me a lot of money repurposing Carpro Reset to include a weekly wheel clean. 🛞. I think I'm going to adjust my wash routine 🙌
