Worth noting - 9.9 times of out 10, riders can throw these in WITHOUT new rotors or ANY "prep" and hit the trail (IF your rotors are within the proper wear-limit which should be stamped on the rotor). Bed-in time is almost immediate as well. Dan mentioned prepping / sanding the rotors - this is always a good idea, but not necessary UNLESS you get noise out of our brake pads. And Dan - we need to see if Pottery Barn would be interested in stocking these - great idea.

I bought a set of these and have only been on them for 2 rides, but these are Squamish, BC rides so quite rowdy where a lot of braking, especially modulation is required and the difference was very noticeable. These brake pads performed so much better than the mfg brake pads. I still have a few rides to test them on, but so far I would highly recommend these brake pads.

I've been buying Ali Express brake pads for $2.50 aud each, they are metallic compound, kevlar and copper inbeded and aluminium backed. Ive tested them and they are perfect even under sustained braking. Ive always had problems with sram metallic pads, shimanos are excellent but the sram pads im always having issues with them never getting the full life out of the pads, they glaze over usually about half way into their life.

@@KurtisPape I've used them a bit after putting them on for this video, they are legit! The power seems a little more usable (in terms of modulation) than the metallic ones, and they have sort of a "softer" feel. Reminiscent of organic, but with max power like metallic pads. The biggest difference though, and my favorite, is that they are just way less noisy when wet, which is lovely. And yes, as a bike shop I don't think we'll be reselling Ali Express pads to our customers, just to ensure a quality experience. It is cool to know about though, so I'm glad you shared. We have lots of gravel riders using them.
