'My strongest influences stem from the archaeological and anthropological theory I learnt at university about land use and humans’ interaction with their environment. I still refer to my text books from that time. Ultimately my work is about being present within a landscape.'
In this video, Adam Buick takes us step-by-step through the processes he uses to throw one of his large Moon Jars and the technique for joining it.
Discover how Adam makes his work in the full step-by-step masterclass inside CR 302 (March/April 2020). You can order current and back issues of the magazine from ceramicreview.com.

How was the foot of the vase trimmed? Or it doesn't need to be trimmed at all?

Erin C I think he said he eventually flips it over and uses a tire on the potter’s wheel as a chuck to hold and support it while trimming.

Hola. No me quedó claro, porque menciona que en la tradición coreana se utiliza "porcelain" (porcelana) que es blanca, pero luego usa la palabra "clay" (arcilla) que también puede ser blanca.. Saludos.

I do not understand …how can someone be called or considered a master when they do only the same one thing over and over again and only change the colors & design …. Chefs do not cook same meal over & over again and only change sauces …painters do not paint same thing over and over again and only change the paint colors … i get artists have niches or periods but this is not the same …. I am having issues with calling this guy a master

I suggest you give it a try before knocking it, you can't compare potters to chefs. It takes lots and lots of experience and time to perfect One form, even if it is similar, but it's Never the same. Keep your Day job and criticism to minimum which is due to a lack of knowledge of the subject.😁
