Ceramics taking off old glue. Join me and start learning the skills of ceramic, porcelain and pottery repair and restoration.
We will be covering equipment, adhesives, bonding, gluing, filling, sanding, painting and airbrushing.
We all have a broken piece of pottery/porcelain lurking in our cupboards which we can all recycle and reuse.
I have been a ceramic restorer for many years after and would love to share my experience with you.

Hello Ali - first of all what fabulous tips you have, and so clear to understand; I subscribed immediately. I restore antique dolls which are bisque porcelain and not opaque, as in most china pieces. Could you initially suggest a suitable clear adhesive for a VERY broken bisque head (it looks as though it's been shot with an air rifle!!!) and then a filler which needs to have a certain degree of translucency - Milliput is too opaque. The heads when fired are a greyish off white, then overpainted with pink to represent the flesh. I do hope you can help.

Hi there, many thanks for your comment, I am so pleased you enjoy my videos. Unfortunatly most glues go yellow over a period of time, When it comes to a filler you could try a mixture of Araldite slow curing glue with a little talk powder, i would do a trial piece first. Please let me know how you get on.
