What about ppl who are working but lost some of thier income, I work but losing 2 of my jobs has put me behind in my payments, and what couple thousand I do make is gone to Bill's, but I have more Bill's then money now, lost a 850.00 extra a month.

Thanks for the fast update! Do you think if EI benefits would end by the end of September, which is still within the CERB application period, people would have maximum CERB benefit, $8,000 next following 4 months even after the application period?

Right now the CERB program period ends on October 3rd, so unless they extend that, it looks like you would only get 1 month of CERB after your EI benefits expired.

Hi, I’m babysitter on January-March 15, 2020 and earned 1,000/month but cash to cash basis with receipt. Right after pandemic announcement I don’t babysit anymore, the parents stop working because of Covid-19. Am I illegible for CERB? Thank you in advance.

This is unofficial: but the Prime Minister made those comments and there is no real policing of meeting the requirements for eligibility if you apply today. So, while I would wait until they make it official, if you applied now because you meet these criteria, you would get it. If later it was found that you didn't meet the criteria, then you would just have to pay it back later as far as I know (without penalty if it's an honest mistake).

What about those who cant reply for cerb till their ei biweekly report is cleared, which can only be done if one can call ei, which is impossible due to backlog of calls.

One quick question : If someone was working part time (20hrs a week) in grocery store from more than a year and making gross income 250$ and 232$ in hand per week. Now from 3rd April get 2$ a hour extra so making 290$ gross and 272$ in hand. (40$ is added each week as temporary wage) Initially month total was 250*4= gross 1000$, In hand 232$ per week Now from 3rd April is 290*4= gross 1160$, In hand 272$ per week Is the person eligible to file CERB? As 40$ a week is temporary wage bonus provided by employer as working in essential grocery store. Please suggest.

Hello, Last year I worked 4 months full-time. Then I changed another 2 seasonal jobs for 8 months. It was over my seasonal job on 31 December 2019. I earned more than 5,000 last year. I do not have job from Jan 2020. I did not apply EI. Can I apply CERB? Thank you

what about in my situation: I have TWO jobs, and one of them has layoff me (And this jobs was paying the mortgage). should I applied to EI or the CERB? should I wait and see what more changes the government makes? On the other job I am still working and receiving full-payment but this does not cover the mortgage payments... Thank you

Relaxation in rules to earn upto $1000 a month has not yet been confirmed as its merely a comment from the PM. However, as per the current policy, you are not eligible to apply EI or CERB.

Hi ... I had a car accident on July 10, two cars hit my car in the back and I got injured and then I got paid for the illness from July 14 to October 26 and October 26 - until February 1st icbc paid for my job loss. But I'm still sick. I have a lot of back ache and neck pain. With the closure of the school due to Covid 19, I am now caring for myself and my children very hardly.I have not quit my job although I have sent a doctor's note for my work. As of April 15 ,I think it you make less than 1000 a month and snd your weres just under 5000 I think your eligible now before Feb 15 no ,Trudeau said for those partime workers season workers self employed make under 1000 and fell just shorth of 5000 critera are now eligible start April 15 ,I'm sure he said that I liked to hear from some out there ,about it .thanks.

I have a question. I worked from March 22 to April 4, 2020, and was paid on April 16 which is above $ 1, 000. I did not apply for the first period of CERB. I am a international student and was working part time last year 20 hours per week in a restaurant, and now I have an official drop of 4months in which I can work full time but due to covid19 restaurant manger cannot give me full time hours but still giving me the 15 hours per week. I am making less than 1000. so i am eligible to apply for CERB or not.

As one of the eligibility criteria to avail CERB is earnings of 5000 dollars in 2019.Can this income be earned by working in India in 2019 even if I am not residing in Canada at that time? I have earned 5000 dollars equivalent money in India before shifting to Canada as an International student. So if my part time job here in Canada after shifting is laid off due to Covid 19 and I have earned 1200 dollars in 2020 from this job and also if I have earnings from India in 2019, will I be eligible for this benifit?

I know someone on social assistance and another person on a $750 per month cpp disability pension who applied for and recvd the CERB. Are they entitled to it and if not what are the consequences for receiving it?
