Dmitri on $70 cases: Rubber Grommets seemed flimsy, not so good for cable management Dmitri on $250 case: There are no cable management options, you have to route all your cables on the inside, which is "actually kind of a cool way to approach cable management." wtf. Don't get me wrong, I understand WHY they didn't invest much into a complex cable management system here, they were going for the most compact design possible, and if you're building a computer around a $250 case, you should have the patience to do a half decent job on cable management. However, the fact that you brush it off like it's no big deal when it's something you've heavily dinged other cases for it, well, it doesn't seem right. It felt like you were looking for reasons for this case to be worth $250, not giving your actual opinions about it.
@HardwareCanucks8 жыл бұрын
+mygetrichslowplan You have a point, there are certainly issues when it comes to cable management in this form factor. However despite the lack of any spacing behind the rear panel, I decided to look at this task from a positive perspective. Adding width to the frame gets rid of the compact 18L form factor although would make it much easier to route.

+Orjon Zaganjori It's a niche product. There's NOTHING like this on the market. If you were to make your own 18mL case, it would cost you a lot more than $250. A lot of the cost went into engineering the thing, making prototypes, research, and manufacturing (research and development stuff). A bigger company could sell this case for much cheaper. But this isn't a company. This is just some guy that spent his own money and time making this case. The NCASE M1 is essentially an ITX version of this case, and many people think it's worth it's price ($200). I'd love it if it were cheaper, but it's price makes sense considering the cost of R&D, and that there's nothing like this on the market (the s09/s10 is close, but is 25% bigger). You could buy a Thermaltake case for 1/3 the price, but if you REALLY care about having the smallest no-compromise computer possible, then this product isn't meant for you.
@CknSalad8 жыл бұрын
+Paul Sholly THIS. I think the poor guy just is not as good in marketing his PC case. One thing I noticed about the Ncase M1, was that Necere and wahaha really planned well on how to market their case. I pretty much knew about the case from so many tech news outlets like a good year or so before V1 came out on Indiegogo and eventually their own website. I feel that choosing KickStarter, which has a somewhat bad reputation (South Park episode does not help), really hurt this otherwise awesome niche M-ATX PC case.

+HardwareCanucks The whole thing feels a bit like "Paid programming" on TV late at night, you normally would destroy this thing in your "Standardized" reviews. The second camera angle ( The 45 degrees to your left ) is a bit shaky and distracting ( Not that bad but unusual for your content ) and no b-roll , no well-balanced and tasteful bokeh we're used to . I mean It's just weird ! I'm a huge fan and I adore your content but this one felt so out of place. I hope you don't take it the wrong way .

+Anthony Savoie All constructive feedback is well received here :) I love hearing on how we can improve our content. I hear ya about the 2nd angle and no B-roll. I have to agreed with Anthony, I think the pace of this format is a lot slower. Your reviews are always under 10 minutes usually between 5-8 minutes, in that time-frame you cover basically every aspect of the product. In this video, you spread the same amount of information out to fit in a video that's almost double the length of your average review. What I really like about your channel is that you make slick, short, informative reviews. Who knows, I might just have to get used to this, but for now I generally prefer your review videos.

Interesting, as an NCASE owner i see the queues taken. Specially that 92mm fan on teh rear with watercooling routing holes is 100% made for the Frozen Q NCASE reservoir. Curiously the SFX PSU don't typically support SLI/XFire because they only have a single PCI PWR out. Meaning at best, in stock cabling configurations you only have 2x 8pins (or 6pin or combination of both). So you can run 2 GPU's so long as they only have a single connector.

@boatrat8 жыл бұрын
Re. the issue of not allowing 240mm rads on the side hinge-bracket: It's because there is no PSU configuration that doesn't conflict with it. Obviously if you go with PSU in the alternate rear position, both SFX and ATX sizes preclude the AIO rad either way. But the fact that in the front position, even the smaller SFX (or SFX-L) are oriented flat toward the front, with the width of the PSU taking up the width of the whole case cross-wise -- this is what precludes the 240mm radiators in that configuration also. And the overall length (i.e. "depth") of the case is not enough to allow the PSU mount to be rotated 90-degrees, for the thinner PSU dimension to allow a radiator next to it. Because the PSU would run over the front RAM-slots on the motherboard that way, unless the whole case was about 3 inches longer.

I didn't mind this overview, as it was Dmitry channeling first his inner Tiny Tom Logan and, ever so briefly, Ahnold. As for the case, I think it fills that niche of super-compact Micro ATX void that a lot of the SFF crowd seeks, but for us Canadians, that $249.00 U.S. backing price equates to around $300.00, which is getting up into Caselabs territory. And I've also found that super-compact designs usually mean compromising of water cooling capability that I so treasure. Unfortunately there is a 25 litre Raijintek Styx that fills the WC and attractive, compact category very nicely, even though it's nigh impossible to get outside of Europe, but is all aluminum exterior panels.

Cool case, but it's not worth $250. I can already tell the kickstarter isn't doing well because the lower donation tiers are worthless art packs that won't sell because that's $50-175 they could just put toward the actual case. What *should* have happened is that you make the sub-case-cost tiers worth that much in "store credit" toward a case at a later date, with the higher donation tiers having priority access to pre-orders when they're available.
