Assorgi Drives In 4 To Lead Silver Sluggers Past Cereal Killers

Frank Assorgi drove in four runs on four hits to lead Silver Sluggers past Cereal Killers 20-13 on Sunday. Frank Assorgi hit an inside the park home run in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring one.
Silver Sluggers collected 29 hits and Cereal Killers had 19 in the high-scoring affair.
Cereal Killers jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Eddie Tootle doubled, scoring two runs, Mark Wagner singled, scoring one run, and Jim Maloy doubled, scoring one run.
Silver Sluggers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on eight hits to take the lead, 7-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by JP Pierson that drove in three.
Cereal Killers took the lead, 7-5, in the top of the second thanks to singles by Paul Bartlett, and Eddie Tootle.
Silver Sluggers captured the lead, 9-7, in the bottom of the second when Dan Vasquez singled, scoring one run, and Frank Assorgi hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs.
Silver Sluggers extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Adam Redell and Dan Vasquez.
Cereal Killers flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on six hits to take the lead, 12-11. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Eddie Tootle that drove in two.
Silver Sluggers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on eight hits to take the lead, 16-12. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Bob Sepulveda that drove in one.
Bob Sepulveda started in the circle for Silver Sluggers. The pitcher surrendered 16 hits and 10 runs over three innings, striking out none and walking none. Mark Wagner started the game for Cereal Killers. The hurler gave up 29 hits and 22 runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Frank Assorgi appeared in relief for Silver Sluggers.
Silver Sluggers piled up 29 hits in the game. JP Pierson led Silver Sluggers with five runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The infielder went 4-for-4 on the day. JP Pierson, Frank Assorgi, Dan Vasquez, Adam Redell, and Jon Kniss each collected four hits for Silver Sluggers. Mark Wagner, Jim Maloy, Paul Bartlett, Paul Lewis, and James Talbot each collected multiple hits for Cereal Killers. Cereal Killers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Daniel Carvahal made the most plays with three.
