We always got generics in my house due to lack of funds...so instead of toys in the cereal, there were mazes and word searches on the box to be drawn on when the cereal was gone.

Mini Boglins, Monster in My Pocket legendary toys that spread easily with cereal toys. Great video matey and I think cereal toys will make a comeback as I'm noticing loads of little rubber toys making a come back. So what's to stop them putting one in a cereal box again.

I remember getting a record out of a cereal box. You had to unroll it and stick it to a piece of cardboard but it actually played.

As many times I ran my hands through the cereal. Never once washed my hands first. Growing up in the 80s with 4 siblings, in order to get the prize you had to be the 1st one up. Thinking about it know how gross it was knowing everyone would eat the cereal after your hands went into the box.

me and my sister used to kick the shit out of each other in the mid 80s for who got the toy I remember the death of cereal toys was when in the late 90s early 2000s they started putting full proper DVD'S with movies like airbud, toy story ,inspector gadget etc. the movies were not actually inside the box the we're built-in between the cardboard sleeve of the box so you literally had to destroy the boxes I actually still have every one till this day they did a limited run of 5 dvds they did this twice once by general mills then Kelloggs copied them 10 dvds in all when you would go to the food stores 75% of the boxes were ripped up and destroyed due to kid theifs so they stopped doing it my favorite toys would be the sticky slimey hand on a string it would get covered in dirt and cat hair I would whip my sisters with it and dirty the shit out of the walls till my mother wanted to kill me...from the mid 80s till 96 was the best memorable times of my life I wish I could go back there the kids of this Era are completely mental loloooo

In the 80's I probably got my parents to buy so many types of cereals just based off the toy inside. I remember the excitement of the ride home from the store. I'd run inside with the paper bag containing my cereal box and right as I was about to open the box and dive my little hand inside for my new toy my mom would tell me that I couldn't until I'd helped her put all the groceries away. After all that was done I finally was able to claim my prize and enjoyed the next 20 minutes throwing a wacky wall walker at my bedroom wall and watching it roll its way down to the floor where it became covered in dog fur and no longer fun to play with. Luckily for me, GI Joe would be coming on to divert my attention and get me fixated on the next box of cereal to get my parents to purchase when the commercials played.

I remember getting lucky on a set of Shrek (2?) Cereal toys. They were water squirters. I still have them sealed. Only 2 trips to the store and I got 3 Fionas, Shrek, donkey, and I think Puss in Boots. Thank you for letting me relive that nostalgia! My mom drove to the store, I was 9 or 10.
