On a somewhat related subject... Pac-Man was in a video promoting the 2020 Tokyo Olympics during the Closing Ceremonies of the Rio Olympics, with Mario, Hello Kitty, Capt. Tsubasa, Doremon, and ... Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, who briefly appeared live on the stadium floor as Mario, coming from an actual pipe.

Pac-Man cereal would be great to bring back with the 40th anniversary here, albeit with modern 2D artwork from the 2000s. As well as Mario brought it back so it could work.

I have such a soft spot for Pac-Man. It's one of the first games I remember playing, and I also loved the animated series back in the day. Of course the cereal was good too, such a no-brainer that I'm surprised it didn't last longer.

I was going through my children's books and found my collection of Care Bears books. Inside my mom had written that she saved UPC codes from Pac Man cereal boxes to collect the books. Made me search and see if you reviewed this cereal which, of course, you did. I don't remember eating Pac Man cereal (I was 3 in 1983) but for the free books, we must have eaten a lot of it! Man, the shape those cereal pieces are in (yuck!) makes me feel really old!

What?? You aren't going to taste 30 year old cereal ?!? LOL. Actually, I'm surprised you opened it up at all, but it was nice to see what it looked like. I was a kid when our local arcade got a PacMan machine in 1980 and I remember a crowd of people 5-deep around it. I was like "What are all these people doing here?" You had to get in line to play it--- can you imagine that? Seriously, people who never liked video games before were all coming down to check it out, it was so cute and clever. I was into the more hardcore games like Defender and Berzerk--what a tough guy, huh? Anyway, thanks Gabe!

The confusion comes from fact in 1986 another pac man I don't recall if called it osc man 2 or ms.pac man that lasted till 91.

Why did he have to open them? It was obvious the wasn't gonna eat them, They're 25 years old! The box even has pictures of what the cereal looks like! And I'm pretty sure you can guess what cereal looks like after 25 years.

To share it with everyone so they can see what the cereal looks like now. Otherwise it would just sit in the box, never being seen again. It's not like it would somehow become more valuable or edible over time.

Pac-Man Cereal was discontinued by Early 1985 due to the Game Crash of '84, it had first launched in September of 1982, with the Ms Pac Man Cereal launching in Mid '83.
