I love this watch and would buy it in a heartbeat if it was 40-41mm. If I get one it’ll have to be the green quartz Precidrive DS Action as it’s a much better 41mm size with a 46mm lug to lug. This will be ginormous on my 6.5” wrist.

I really like this!! I was looking at this earlier today at a store, side by side next to a green aquis, aquaracer gmt and my own aquaracer ceramic and it totally held it's own in terms of feel and quality next to the more expensive watches. It's simple and maybe not the most original but they make it work really well. I'm also glad they started using stainless inserts instead of the nylon or whatever it was that discolored after a few years on the older model. Great watch, nice review!

Since Certina is not actively marketed in the US (Swatch Group prefers to push Tissot in this segment), one has to find these through on-line vendors. At $600 on the Grey Market they have some stiff competition from Seiko and most micro-brands (Borealis, Steinhart, NTH, and Christopher Ward come to mind immediately). This is the second generation of the DS Action diver, featuring an aluminum bezel insert (the first gen had a resin insert that was prone to yellowing), redesigned indices, and the Powermatic 80 movement (a de-tuned ETA 2824-2 whose beat rate has been reduced from 28,800 to 21,600 BPH in order to double the power reserve to 80 hours). I think it's a nice, clean design and I particularly like the blue sun-ray dial variant. 21 mm lug width makes finding straps a little more challenging, but not impossible. If you live in the US, you can almost guarantee you'll never see one out in the wild, which has a certain appeal to some watch enthusiasts.

Nice review of this Certina dive watch. It looks fantastic and definitely stands out from many others especially in green, really beautiful color. I tried on this very watch today at my local jeweller and even on my 8” wrist (20cm) it was still a large watch, anyone considering this timepiece needs to have large wrists or really like oversized watches, although only 43mm it wears much larger than you’d expect for its given dimensions.

I am wearing my Certina .. its really solid and feels like industrial tools. Maybe not best watch but i feel it is a powerful and heavy duty watch. I am happy with my purchase , i recommend it to big boy's like me. If you want this watch for long term diving , the lum not stand long time.. when i am diving i use my seiko monster and the lum stand long long time

I really got into watches when I got my first Certina chronograph. Quartz, but still a great watch I've been using for many years. Still got a lot of comments on my steel, white dial, and gold accents. Now I really want a Rolex Sub, but can't really afford to use that much money right now. But this one seems really nice, and with the quality of Certina watches, it should be a great buy.

I went of one of these. The AR really is that good. It's amazing how the crystal is almost not there. Very, very attractive. To be honest, the initial loom is quite poor. But after 3 hours, it hangs in with the 5KX, if not beating it.

Nice watch, Rob, can't say anything else because I have one. There is something about the lume from Certina which is deceiving, the same happens on my Multi-8 and on this one, the initial glow isn't all that strong, but it last all night long. I am a lume junkie and I was disappointed when I got my Multi-8, until I used it overnight, it doesn't light up the room like C3X1 or Lumibrite, but it glows a very long time and very consistently. I would have loved to have some more lume on there, but it is way better than my Kahki King. It doesn't last more than half an hour. I know Jomashop are selling way under MSRP, but you don't have a manufacturer warranty from them. And as I live on the right side of the pond, Certina watches are quite expensive. I paid three times the Jomashop price for my Multi-8 and more or less the same for the Powermatic 80 diver. But from an AD under European MSRP and with factory warranty. And I agree with you, Certina has some of the best AR coating in the business, most of the time you don't notice you have a crystal and it makes the dials really come into play.

If you're trying to decide between the DS and Seaming Tissot it all comes down to what do you value the DS action diver has a better bracelet while the Tissot has a ceramic bezel. Same movement same WR, however the Tissot has a see through case back and that's either pro or con depending on your taste in dive watches

Hi Rob. I'm confused. I stopped the video and it sure looked like screw links because the screw head is clearly visible. What about the end links, hollow or solid (prima face, the look hollow, but it's a $600 watch)? 21mm lug width? Why do they do this? Please 20 or 22mm only.

Good question, yeah all the h10 movements are 21,600. That’s part of how they got high power reserve was slowing it down.

Hi, ~7.4inch wrist, which one would you prefer, take and why. tried to narrow it down to the three below ( still, other Seiko's and also glycine is kind of considered) Certina and Sumo, long lasting power reserves, Certina Powermatic 80 is relatively new movement - some saying plastic parts used in it? Seiko can be misaligned but it's really nice looking ( only one tried on hand) Yema, is kind of cool. 1. - Yema Superman II Maxi Dial YSUPII2019-AMS 2. - Certina DS Action Diver C032.407.11.051.10 3. - Seiko Prospex Diver SPB101J1 Sumo International Edition they are all pretty much in the same price range

I think Hamilton is a better choice for mid range Swatch group stuff quality level is the same on all of it basically. Hell throw in a few bucks and you can get an Seiko sbdc051 which is better in every aspect IMO. I just do not feel this watch is worth 600 dollars in any way after owning one just my opinion.

I have noticed the bezel numerals on Certina, Raymond Weil and Mido divers are all slightly crooked in the perpendicular - easier to make out in the "30" marker - these bezels must either all be manufactured in the same place (a factory in China ?) or by the same type of numeral imprinter machine !
