Ive been in vr since 2017 and the amount of good depth correct vr videos are still scarce. I hope vr videos like this start to proliferate as apple vision pro comes out and we get cheaper and better depth cameras, hopefully one day 180 on phones.

Yes I have been thinking that! Why not? I can't accept that Insta dropped VR 180... I had one but it got wet and died...Then got another but I sratched a lens... No spareparts available anywhere. No there is a blurred area near focus.... I would buy a new camera but... UHHH!!! I hope Canon will help me out in near future

Thank you for understanding! KZbin has lots of problems lately. I need to come up with more effective encoding workflow. I did not use AV1 encode on this so it’s my mistakes as I am at CES doing live coverage every day. No PC tower with me to encode AV1.

A NEW canon fisheye dual lens? this will be interesting. I am actually very interested in 3d that is LESS than 180° because lets face it, the 3d around the edge is not 3d.

Well, Hugh, that was quite a tease for that lovely Canon gear that we may never be able to get our hands on. In the meantime , I'm looking for a stereo VR180 (or, heck, 360) rig that's easier to lug around than my Canon R5/dual-fisheye combo but still comes reasonably close to the image quality that my Apple Vision Pro is capable of displaying.

How can I view it in 3D SBS? Usually I have to download 3D videos from youtube to view them in SBS format, but this one just plays as a 2D video.

This one stuck in Processing and pls give it a day to show up normally. This one you can view directly on KZbin VR! It’s SBS 180. You will need Skybox VR or Quest TV to watch it. It’s “immersive” video (term from Apple)

My Samsung APS-C NX500 has a 45mm 3D lens... if samsung didnt ditch the camera market.. things would be very different today.. they pushed so many new features out there like OLED high resolution screens, 3D lenses, on board charging, wifi, adn 4k.... stuff that 8 years later still isnt common.

So I guess netflix saw what bigscreen was doing and said "oh shit". I guess that's why there's no netflix widget on bigscreen like there is for amazon and disney. Bigscreen is poised to dominate the market if 3d theatrical releases get mainstream again. Because more people will have vr than they had 3d tvs back at the peak of 3d tvs I bet. If bigscreen gets a better streaming catalog and offers a monthly pass, it could be major competition for the future of home theater

@@sharpvidtube I know. 360 cameras are lame. I don't understand how people don't see the appeal of a camera that literally makes you feel like you are there. If sales were a problem the marketing needs to be improved (showing how this differs from even spacial video where it still looks like a small window off in the distance, albeit 3d). Meta themselves should be creating a camera like this and pushing it hard along with the Quest line.

Well, a very well build and well finished concept. If you look around the camera in the video, everything is finished and well built as a functional camera - my estimate is they want to hold it and do a big launch and not allow me or other influencers cover it yet lol.

Yes correct. This is VR180 (Immersive Video). If you watch it on KZbin app or browser, it show mono 180 for you to interact on phone. You only see 3D within VR headset like Meta Quest 3 or sideload it on Apple Vision Pro. Please watch this in comparable 3D devices to see 3D

that compact vr180 camera is so promising, a bit sad that its 8k only at 30fps, but maybe with ai upscaling you can use the 4k footage and scale that up. I dont think they will actually release a vr lens for aps-c, not like it would save that much space.

If it did 8k it would be a big deal as nobody is over 8k presently. Its also consumer grade, you wont get over 8k at the consumer level for years probably. Anyways, there is little chance that thing will ever be made. Its a concept, they are just fooling around.

Top quality video , The VR really adds a sense of scale , that you don't know you missing on flat screen. I'm still getting used to VR but found your tracking smooth and awesome . I did keep wondering why the camera is low ? . I did feel like i was the hobbit in the room . 😅 Great work keep it up

Thank you! The reason all my camera is low is because I have a Spatial Camera on top of my VR camera. And the spatial camera take front view as it’s only 3D not 180.

Great day @hughhou I'm wondering how are you playing the 180Vr clips full resolution? What are your pc spec? I have 13th Gen intel i9-13900k 3000mhz, 24 cores Asus TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI 64 g of ram GeForce rtx 4090 and it still has trouble handling the 8k 180 vr clips from the R5.

Why is the KZbin App for Android so much zoomed in on Fullscreen and not zoomable anymore? Even 4K looks really pixelated now since everything is so big (and not only your videos). Has anyone a fix here? :/ Edit: I can't even see the speaker + camera in his hands at once. Only if it is not fullscreen and 16:9 or so widescreen with comments below I see more of the video :|

Is youtube compression be a major factor for loss of overall quality? how different does it look to native output? What gear you shot this on and post processes?

This is a really great way to do reporting. I'm curious to know which fstop do you use for VR when your in darker spaces? I usually use F11 to keep as much as I can in focus but then in this case the ISO has to be 3200+, right?

I always use 5.6 and ISO 800 to ISO 3200 depends on lighting.
