As I said - everyone has their preferences! The animal rankings that I added as a "bonus" where based not only on the appearance of the animal but also it's uniqueness and how much I wanted them in the game so there were a lot of factors. I still love the American Alligator!

Great video! 😊 Interestingly enough, watching this now as a newcomer to Planet zoo and playing on console, many of the animals across the DLCs are already included in the base game. So far we have had the Aquatic pack and Twilight pack and I am really looking forward to when they release the Conservation DLC for the consoles 😊

I always find other peoples ranking interesting, as it tends to be so different from my own ranking. I especially liked your explanation if the building pieces. I for example used to hate the building pieces in the europe pack, but I also was more focussing on the themed ones (how much colored glass do you need in a zoo, eh?), but you pointing out the smaller pieces really made me realise how much more I should use those to improve my builds. I would be up for an animal ranking, yes. Especially since we share our critique on the south america pack. :D Most people love it, because it has a jaguar, but gosh, it's a bad model, honestly.

Well, some people are making their own rankings, so let me make mine: 17- Deluxe Edition, for the reasons stated in the video, which I very much agree with. 16- Arctic Pack, also pretty much agree with what's in the video, not a lot of wiggle room for it. 15- Southeast Asia Animal Pack. When it first came out I felt cheated, honestly. It's basically a mammal-only pack, when southeast Asia has such a diverse bird and reptile fauna, and it seriously suffers from "we already have that" syndrome with the dholes. 14- Arid Animal Pack. Again, fairly mammal-centric, with the saving grace being how good the dromedary, black rhino, addax and porcupine look. It very much feels like most of these should've been in the base game, though. 13- Eurasia Animal Pack. Other than the swan, I'm not too crazy about any of the animals here. The saiga and wolverine are fine, but the tortoise sticks out as an animal that shouldn't be in an exhibit box, and the wisent feels incredibly redundant. I'll say, if the markhor was here I'd rank it higher. 12- Europe Pack. As a brazilian, I'm not a huge fan of european wildlife, but the animals here are good enough. The building pieces are fairly useful too, I just don't see myself going to a zoo to see a badger. That's a me thing, though. 11- Twilight Pack. As much as I like the smaller animals, it feels like most of these are kind of unnecessary, and the red fox, again, tests my patience with yet another red dog, but the egyptian fruit bat was such a game changer, and the building pieces here are so good, that I can't help but rank it a little higher. 10- North America Animal Pack. Some fan favorites are here, but the beaver and moose feel out of place. Not because they're not iconic, but because they're so uncommon in zoos. The bullfrog could also have been something a little more inspired, like a snapping turtle, but otherwise this pack is great. 9- Tropical Pack. I feel like I was too harsh on it in the past because it didn't have any birds, but I don't really have anything against the animals here. The sloth is a good pick, and I've warmed up to the lar gibbon due to it looking a little better than the siamangs. The building pieces feel seriously out of place, though. 8- Africa Pack. Here, it's the animals that shine, cause the building pieces certainly don't, I use them fairly rarely. But the new animals look insanely good, and it was at this point that I felt the game was more or less complete, as only meerkats and african rhinos were missing for me at the time. 7- Grasslands Animal Pack. With so many animals from the southern hemisphere, and the sheer quality of the models, it's kind of hard not to love this one. 6- Wetlands Animal Pack. Again, my bias might be showing here, but the simple addition of the capybara elevates this one beyond a much lower spot. The red crowned crane also makes me incredibly happy. Seriously, every bird is welcome. 5- Australia Pack. I fell in love with both the animals and the building pieces, and it is basically almost perfect, but I'm not a fan of the dingo. It feels like it's not as iconic of an australian animal as many of the others. It's less troublesome now that the wombat and tasmanian devil have made it, but still, red dog syndrome rages on. If either the dingo or the dhole weren't in the game, I'd be much nicer to whichever one remained. 4- South America Pack. I mean, my bias is showing here, but I adore every single animal in this pack, and do feel like they should've been in the game from the start, but still. The building pieces and plants are often fairly useful to me too. 3- Aquatic Pack. This one might be one of my favorite ones ever, as not only does it have a fairly non-mammal centric roster, but the building pieces are very versatile, and often find their way to my zoos. 2- Oceania Pack. As I said, more birds are always welcome, and the building pieces here certainly do help. The only thing keeping it from being number one, is the fact we got another bat instead of lorikeets. I mean, come on. Still, it is otherwise a perfect pack, only losing to... 1- Conservation Pack. Yeah, this one hits all the sweet spots. The animal selection is basically perfect, even if most of them are mammals, because they're VERY noteworthy mammals. And the building pieces here are gorgeous too, pretty much guaranteed to find their way to my zoos. So there you have it, my personal opinion, just here to generate some discussion and give this video some well deserved traction.

One of my favorite Planet Zoo pack is the Oceania pack which added brackiation to the Orangutan, the viewing domes and one of my favorite animal ever is the Tasmanian Devil.

I didn't think I was going to like the Conservation Pack--I'm not into the animals in there, but I find myself using those pieces a lot to build. I just made a horse habitat in my new zoo and I've stepped up my game with null barriers. I think I will get Twilight Next (again had no real interest in the "theme") because many people say it's very versatile.

i recently engage with this game, I really love the grassland and wetlands pack. the capibara is my favourite neighboor and one of my favourite animals, and the addition of the Aguara guazu (or maned wolf) was a surprise for me, they are seriously endangered. i feel like this game need more animals. A Patagonia pack (with dinosaur bones, and archeological structures and caverns, and the so interesting animals from there (Sea elephant, Magellan pinguin, Guanaco, ñandu (south american ostrich) and the Burrowing parrot. a Japanese pack (only fort using sakura trees and architecture) and animals like the tanuki, the fyling siberian squirrel, the serow and ¿why this game hasnt got aquariums?

Put it this way, my 5 favourite animals are The Maned Wolf, European Magpie, Cassowary, African Wild Dog and Okapi. So... my favourite packs are the ones that added one of my favourite animals. Oh, I also adore red foxes, and the pieces for the Twilight Pack were awesome, so thats definitely top 5 for me.

I think ranking all the DLCs is really difficult....The only thing I can definitely say is that the Deluxe Pack is the last one. But then it gets very hard (literally all of these packs have so amazing animals tiat it's impossible for me to make a proper ranking). To be honest, if someone asks, which packs he/she should definitely buy...my answer would always be, all of them😄. Just because of the great variety of animals we now have.

@@CesarCreates btw do you know how space works with interspecies habitats, I’ve tried looking everywhere for how it works but I can’t find anything. For example if I want to make an enclosure with buffalo and I have 3 they need X amount of space but if I want to add 2 ostriches they need Y amount of space. The buffalo need more so I’d sure as long as I meet the needs of the buffalo the ostriches will be ok, or do I need to add them together?

They should just unlock for you when you buy the DLC if you play the sandbox mode. In franchise you will have to research the new building theme to unlock it

Im from north America in Powell River a very small pretty much Unheard of town and i can say that alot of the North American animals (for example the American bullfrog) are actually invasive here and shouldn't be in game the American bullfrog should be the red legged frog as its the native equivalent

The animal can be invasive to one area of the world but it still has its origin where it naturally occurs so I don't think it should determine its presence in the game. The same goes for the wild boars for example. They are native to the area in Europe where I am from and I loved that they added them to the game but they are also invasive to some areas like Great Britain or North America.
