It's a Catholic Holiday. The whole Triduum called ALL HALLOWS TIDE is Catholic. It consists of All Hallows' Eve (Halloween), All Saints' Day (Dia de los muertos), and All Souls' Day, tomorrow November 2nd.

Halloween is actually Catholic. The word "Halloween" is actually "All Hallows' Eve" meaning the Evening before All Saints' Day. Many Catholics go to Mass on Halloween to fulfill their All Saints' Day Holy obligation. Today is a Holy day of obligation for Catholics.

The "Día de Muertos" partially comes from the Catholic tradition of "Fieles Difuntos" and "Todos los Santos", but, "La Ofrenda" or "Altar de Muertos" is of Aztec origin.

This is exactly what I needed to see. I lost my pitbull, Rocko, on August 6, 2022. Some days it feels like it was yesterday. I know about Dia De Los Muertos, but I never tried to celebrate it. The way Cesa feels about Daddy is the way I feel about Rocko. I know that I had an angel on earth with me. I miss him so much. I love this day that honors our loved ones who have gone before us.

as Mexican I like to encourage people from different countries to celebrate dia de muertos and remember the loved ones we lost. Putting their pictures, decorate in their honor and with the things they used to love, is very special, it brings tears but also lots of important memories

This is a beautiful altar. I am a Guadalupana at my church Our Lady of Guadalupe, I follow in my Grandma & Greatgrandmas footsteps. I am the only Granddaughter to become a Guadalupana and we make the altars there and I do at home as well with my mijo. Thank you I had mi mijo watch this. I also painted murals for the city I live in. Its like a small Mexican village.

To celebrate life when thinking of the late relatives and friends is a beautiful tradition. Many people are afraid of death and avoid thinking of it. But death belongs to life, we can not denie. I was with my father when he died at home with 84 years because of a stroke. My mother was with me. It was peaceful an calm. He had a stroke 13 years before, but my two siblings and me tried to support him as much as we could.And althoug his life wasn't the same he had moments of fun. He told us after learning to speak again, cause he had aphasia. He loved life. Thats the thing, we should not forget. To love the life. Thank you Mr. Milan for this video. God bless you❤

Ppl forget that Halloween was once a day to honor & remember our ancestors, family, loved ones who passed over. Religion of the west changed that understanding. When I moved to L.A. in the 90’s I learned about Day of the Dead. I think it is a beautiful holy day. I really like the decorations, sugar skulls, fav foods, etc. Death is just another phase of life. I hope I am in a positive state of being when my time comes.😌

to hear you speak I remember when my father shared this with me when I was a little girl in the late 60s early 70s and he spoke to me about the appreciation of life but also about the peace of death that we are but A vessel holding spirit and the Day of the dead that our spirit returns during the special time and we can reunite with those we have loved and lost and ever since I was little I can honestly say that I learned never to be afraid of death it is part of living and our spirit will live on all eternity beyond the gate of heaven door 🕊 I am so proud of my Mexican American heritage we come from a long line of proud peoples with great courage and strength and a spirit that’s soars thru the heavens 🕊

I saw you in Germany four years ago and I am Happy, that I could see you in live. Please excuse my bad english. My parents, my sister, my husband - died many years ago. Then I lost my so'n in the age of 17 , he has had an accident. Never in my Life I had to cry more tears. Its so hard to remember the most awfull day in my Life, when the Police told me, that my son ist dead. Only that. there were my three Kids, they needed me, was the reason not to die on my own. My favorite dogs are German Shepard. This time I've got one Rumänin, one Malinois and one German Shepard on my own. They are one reason to going in. Many greetings fromm Germany and one more, please excuse my worse english. Maybe one day WE can meet in Germany on Stage one more. First time you was Here, Steven Gatien was the translater.

I m French and Catholic, and in France, we call it La Toussaint or Les Toussaints. And we will buy Chrysanthèmes flowers then go to our family tomb, clean it and put Chrysanthèmes flowers on it. And we end it with go to messe. Light candles for all that passed away before us. So yes I m like you. This day is my favorite day too. ❤❤❤

This is observed in many different cultures. I find it a time of reflection and gratitude. I’ve lost many loved ones in my lifetime, both 2 legged and 4 legged. Death is something we all experience and should be respected and honored.
