Quite new to snooker, but why is the safety "negative"? Seems at least a reasonably good shot which was just outshined by the opponent's incredible reply. Just re-read the blurb on this vid: "Two of the best commentators.." - I fully agree! Clive Everton was 82 when this was broadcast - was always my favourite on BBC over the years, shame that the BBC saw fit to let him go, true to UK TV politics tho ITV picked him up. No sensationalism from him, no punchlines, always addressed players by their surname (which came across as him being fair to all players, which he was), read the game well, made plenty of psychological interjections in his commentary that made it more real for us viewers. And yeah, Hendry is a class act to whatever he turns his hand to...
@richarddarlington11393 жыл бұрын
Well stated. But, let's face it, the guy was 82 years old. He's not that many years left, sadly. We tend to forget these are people with lives and families of their own. Did the BBC let him go, or did he simply wish to retire?

These last few games of their match involved a lot of bad luck by Kyren, and good luck by Ronnie. To me, Ronnie's Immortal Game is his 146 -- it just shows his total command of the table. @NewYorkActingCoach9 ай бұрын
The commentary is understandable that O'Sullivan "Gave way to frustration like he did when he was younger", and it may be right, or there may be a deeper reason for his seemingly wild shot. There is a 'mystery' involved in sudden changes of behavior, which may fulfill a 'need' in brilliant people, and his wild shot may have been perfectly sensible (as it turned out to be) and was in fact a kind of bravery. Bravery is a very strange thing. John.

Ronnie (consciously or subconsciously) misses on purpose when he feels the snooker gods have been too good to him. @patrickroby61413 жыл бұрын
Agreed. He is so good at knowing, very quickly, the best "shot" to play. He drew refs attention to the possible clothing fault by taking a look himeself then almost seemed to hesitate when cueing up to strike the blue ball...... the ref needed to call foul before he played the shot, otherwise balls would have been left (there would not have been replacement as you get with the miss call). His reaction afterwards was not (in my opinion) consistent with one where his mistake is genuine...... I have seen him (on a different occasion) make an uncharacteristic miscue on the cue-ball where the foul also gave him the advantage .....
