Cesar is so learned in art history. It really shows how important knowing your stuff can be. I love the way that these pieces are all modern homages to the classics, and the skillful manner in which time is sort of diminished as old school styles meet today's subject-matter. Fantastic work.

Hello sir, I am sorry for taking your time but I always wanted to ask this question from you that how would a beginner can make his first appearance in the art exhibition and how will they get their first shout out from the reputed galleries? I am asking this because it's related to me, I left my medicine career for the art and their culture, I am really working hard toward my goals but I am confused with these questions. I don't have any idea from where should I grab my first opportunity, I need a proper guidance kindly, help because my entire career is depending on my work.

Question, Cesar, you say you want yo bring back Realism/clasicism.. why then or Syncretism is the pursue?,or is this just a Phase?
@santocesart6 жыл бұрын
Los Idealistas_canal Syncretism is the natural way for me to present the case. My art grew out of post modernism, so in a way is part of it and part against it.
@canalcerrado24336 жыл бұрын
Cesar Santos I see, I actually search for. Syncretism the amalgamation or attempted amalgamation of different religions, cultures, or schools of thought....but do you want to combine both?...My education was also bahaus and modern and I self study the clasical or traditional...there are opposing points as well as similar ones...actually I will discuss Picasso and his influence on art and how it affected tradition by oposing it...but the talk will be in spanish 🙂

My opinion on "what's happened to art?".....It no longer has a transcendent aspect. Even the formalist Abstract Expressionists were in their own way making art referencing a calmer, wiser and loftier aspect of life, that hides behind objective reality (this is especially true of Rothko). Post Modernists like Damien Hirst or Jeff Koon's make art that is about our present existentialist, secular and godless condition. Secular art is dead art because it mocks the notion of the transcendent. Rothko tried to speak to god and in a moment of loss of faith ended his own life. Our present day artists fearing the same demise, make art that is cynical and lifeless (but for a selected few very $$$$$$.....so good on them?). George Steiner a wise and erudite gentleman, expresses this idea best when he states that art is the "background radiation from the original act of creation" (by god!). Artists are.....and have always been Shamans, to bring art back to life, we need to cease being court jesters and embrace (or at least accept the possibility of) an element of transcendency in our existence. Like I stated initially ....my opinion.....what would I know?

:) . Mi opinion ., amo el arte ...
