Glassy approach and touchdown at 00:32, guess the AGL when the video starts.

The difficulty of depth perception on glassy water is unnerving to me

It’s quite spooky and nothing to mess with , first time doing it on TRUE glass with no reference to a shoreline off the the left or right is truly terrifying. In this video I had a shoreline quite far to the right as an aid but not much help. This lake is at about 30MSL so from 130MSL set your attitude and fpm descent and just obey your gauges until touchdown.

Wow! Very nice and very smooth! Almost impossible to notice the touchdown. Well done!

Where is the Water Landing? Bro. @@echosierraenroute

The plane touches down at 32 seconds, it is on floats not wheels. This is a glassy water technique landing for float planes. No idea what you’re getting at. It’s dangerous and not easy when you are new. Attitude is fixed and control descent with power. Watch the vacuum gauge on the right

Bro are u 4 real!! He is at 2000 feet descending slowly. The video is only 37 seconds long. Just so you know I have 1500 hours plus actual flight hours . I don't mean disrespect but wtf are you talking about? What landling,? @@echosierraenroute

This video starts with me descending at a very slow rate from about 80ftAGL above water and touching down at 32 seconds, watch vacuum gauge drop, i reduce power and clean the flaps and apply power to continue the step taxi on the water, original video is longer but i trimmed it. If you turn on HD its easy to see the water surface in front of the engine cowling and to the right when i land... your perspective proves how dangerous and difficult glassy landings are. You are in an abyss and do not know how high you are. You think im at 2000ft AGL here? lol my man. i have a shore line laterally to my right about 1000ft serving as my LVR to calculate my height as i commit to my instruments for the touchdown. Go get your ASES rating then we can discuss. @@CollieJenn
