Could not have been more nicely done. The 195 has really limited aileron landing - the strong control inputs bring back a lot of memories from the 195 - thanks.

you get a bit out the left side but zero on the right..have a mirror facing forward to aid taxiing

Any flaps in a xwind with the 195? I wasn't sure if that was the reason for the long float or if it was just a long gust. You weren't carrying a ton of extra speed. I grew up with differing opinions across different conventional gear airplanes with regard to flaps in a strong xwind. I do know that a 195 will talk back to you very sternly if you don't put it on straight! (unless it has those crazy-leg crosswind gear).

The crosswind gear were fun. After landing you could kick them out of the center detent and taxi a bit sideways down the taxiway. Much easier to see over the cowling that way!

Ailerons have 3 chores; 1) make the bank to TURN the plane (99% of our flying) 2) approaching the runway: makes the BANK that stops xwind drift. 3) ON the runway: provides the ADVERSE YAW that aids rudder in directional control to brake speed.
