I had to give up pursuing my PPL back in high school due to being broke, now I'm 30 and still broke but I'm doing everything I can, selling everything to fast track the rest of my training, hopefully find a decently priced Archer or Cherokee 6 (I can dream) so I can help rescue dogs/birds on the west coast and maybe even get someone to treatment like you.. Keep inspiring. I dream to work as hard as you did to get in the position to help people like you are.

Hey Doug, I've gone back and been watching Bob's Sailing Doodles since Episode 1. I was planning to watch his Flying Doodles episodes when I got caught up with the Sailing Doodles episodes. In that process I ran across an advertisement for his Flying doodles and recognized you so had to stop and watch this episode. I've followed you the past few years on your Facebook page with all you have done with Operation Airdrop. Thanks for all you do for folks in need. Hope to see you again some time.

That was easily one of the coolest videos I've seen on KZbin period... Where do I start, first of all that 340 is beyond gorgeous with that fresh paint and those Tip tanks. Watching the Fowler flaps deploy from the rear cam is extremely cool.... Then you look at the panel with all the top of the line upgrades not to mention the interior of the plane and all you can think of is, "I want one"...!!! The windows from the outside look like a Gulfstream, very clean lines all around this aircraft. I was actually excited when Doug started to taxi onto the grass strip, just the anticipation of the takeoff is mind boggling not to mention the low fly by on his buddies field and then a flawless landing on his own private strip.... That entire video is like a dream come true for any pilot and from what I can see Doug is extremely knowledgeable and worked hard to make that dream come true. Well done sir and I wish you the best on every flight... :) P.S. Can you please make a few more videos with Doug for everyone to watch, maybe a day trip starting from bringing the plane out to returning later that night. Wasn't sure if he actually does night landings...? Thanks, now I'm going to watch it again....🤓

This was a fun and different video really enjoyed the ride and thanks to Doug for his important and compassionate charity work. I would think making unselfish contributions to those in need is very satisfying, except for the reality of first connecting with unfortunately ill people and then losing that connection to the most hated disease in my book, cancer. I loss two younger brothers to colon cancer, one at 17 years old and another at 41 years old. So again, thank you, Doug. On a brighter note, love the airplane and the upgrades you made.

Nice Work Doug. The 340 was one of my favorites. But when you stepped up to the turbines you never look back except nostalgia. I look back now going night IFR over mountains in ice. Well let's just say it worked out. Haven't help you if you ever lost an engine or even a turbocharger in ice. Thanks for the Post made my day I'm so glad that life worked it out for you that you could afford to do this as a retirement. I can't help but be a little bit jealous. That wasn't that good of an investor. Still I did get to retire with the DC-10.

Robertson STOL systems are amazing, I owned a Seneca III, with the system. Complete transformation. Amazing performance while increasing safety and single engine performance. I have also flown RAM conversion 340A. I can only imagine the increase with Robertson STOL. With the package, the flying characteristics are different. Once learned, the R-STOL increases safety margins, and is a blast to fly. Passengers are always amazed at the takeoff and climb performance. Thank you doodle man for focusing on the R-STOL system.

Wow ! Beautiful 340 Doug ! I haven’t seen one of these in a long time. I worked at a FBO in Nashville, while building time in the 80’s and saw them them fairly often then, along with the 335. Always loved the lines of that aircraft, with the positive things from the 310, like the stance and ramp presence, enhanced and made larger and wing configuration more like a 414/421, but with tip tanks. That’s impressive numbers you cite. Not much to dislike, including the 29-30 gal fuel burn and really impressive short field numbers. Amazing job with the upgrades Doug, thanks for sharing ! I flew a straight 310R in Africa almost always overloaded and almost always in and out of gashed out patches better suited for 182's or helicopters. True, if I had ever lost an engine I'd have lost the plane in many instances, but they never failed me. It had the same wing as your 340 without the Robertson. My thought is the kit is totally not needed and just adds dead weight. The split flaps on that plane are more than enough to come straight down. Your pressurization adds a lot of weight too, plus it's a bigger fuselage so the comparison is really only with the wing. Beautiful plane, but I just wanted to say, a normal 310R can get in and out of anything resembling an airstrip as well as any bush plane. Many non-310 flyers might not know that. Also flew the C-335 and C-402C's regularly over there when in less demanding environments. The 335 is rather rare. Same as your 340 without the pressurization. I miss those days.

Smart pilot! You have to have tuned fuel injectors to run lean of peak. It would be easy enough to reach out to this gentleman for more information if you are interested. The general aviation community is very open and friendly. The mandate for ADSB more or less forced people to spend $$,$$$.$$ on upgrades to the whole instrument panel. His instrument panel would have been the envy of the airlines 30 years ago. Very nice airplane.
