That trail camera seems to work pretty well Sandy. Thanks for showing it to us and allowing us to join you on your time out in the woods and in your "acres" in your back yard. Try to stay warm and dry my friend, see you on the next one.

Loved the oil lamp. Reminded me of my late Dad. Especially during the power cuts of the 70's.
@WiltshireMan9 ай бұрын
If we ever have a power cut or grid down situation I would still be able to see at night and stay warm Rob. We light the lamp and the stove most nights, it also sets me up for a better nights sleep as it's not good to be sat infront or too close to a computer screen at night

Bought my dad a trail cam for his birthday, they're great bits of kit. Love the review on this one. Sad to see the foxes with mange, although they didn't seem madly bothered by it. And that oil lamp, what a beautiful homely glow they give off. So cosy with a real log fire burning as well.
@SteveSeadog9 ай бұрын
Great value trail-cam, Sandy. I'll order one and see what goes on in the woods when I'm not around. It's awful to see the foxes suffering with sarcoptic mange. Without capturing the foxes and killing the mange mites with chemicals (totally impractical) I guess it's going to remain rife.
@WiltshireMan9 ай бұрын
Its worth having a trail cam in your woods Steve, it will enable you to keep an eye on the place when your not there, a bit like having a security guard without having to pay wages, not only that it's always thrilling to see the wildlife:) Must do a camp soon, I have another tent to try:)

Thanks for sharing Sandy. Trail cam quality is definitely improving. Shame to see Reynard and mate covered in mange. Not keen on foxes but don’t like them to suffer. A .243 would suit them, but perhaps not in an urban garden :) ATB. James😅

If you do a search, you can find them for under $40 US. That exact camera is branded by several sellers, so i guess it can be found under a lot of different names. A more lot of features on yours than a couple brands i bought a few years ago for a lot more. Cameras have gone up in technology and down in price...a nice trade off indeed. If you hide an Ivermictin pill in a bit of food, it will treat their mange and over time maybe fully heal them. But it would be good to know which ones are getting the treatment.
@WiltshireMan9 ай бұрын
Yes I agree, the cameras have become more affordable and better but still I think the sensors can be improved a bit more, even a phone can take much better video. Hopefully we will see these cameras continue to improve. Thanks for the tip regarding ivermectin, not sure where to get that from?
@Daytona29 ай бұрын
Interesting to see. If you dose the fox food with Arsenicum & Sulphur it may treat the mange. The National Fox Welfare Society send it out free (but send them a donation, obvs).

I have some treatment coming from a fox rescue centre which should help them, the trouble is these are foxes that have lived for generations in the town and have lost the ability to hunt like a normal fox would do, all they can do is scavenge for scraps which aren't the best food for them, consequently they are in poor condition
@db444919 ай бұрын

Hi sandy I’m going to get carol and Paul at the fox rescuers to send you a few bottles of homeopathic mange treatment. Drop a few drops over the food you put out each time and keep doing it. You will see results but it will take time. Will contact them now for you. 👍♥️🦊 I really miss our foxes we used to look after, sadly none here as there is too much natural around us. We can hear dear barking at night and we have red kites sparrow hawks hedgehogs and squirrels but no sign of mr 🦊😔. Hope you and Mandy are well sending all our love ❤️
