Little mistake on my part folks, fact check below: At the start of the video I state that KTM owns 51% of CFMOTO - this is actually incorrect. There is no ownership between the brand and it’s simply a joint venture and distribution agreement. The relationship started between KTM and CFMOTO started in 2013, when CFMOTO in China became the importers of KTM. A short timeline of activity below. 2013 - CFMOTO became the Chinese importer of KTM 2017 - a joint venture for motorcycle production was established 2020 - opening of the CFMOTO-KTMR2R plant in Hangzhou 2023 - Pierer Mobility AG became importer for CFMOTO Motorcycles in the UK, Germany, Spain, Austria & Switzerland

2:33 Hey Chops, somewhat scared to admit... I'm one of the 3 people that like the license plate cover/mudguard on the rear wheel. I much prefer over the "standard" taillight fender, that sticks out like a sore thumb, which many riders end up eliminating from their bikes anyway. To me, the mudguard looks as more "part-of-the-bike" or at least the frame/swingarm. Even on single-sided swingarms. Do I just have bad taste? Thoughts?

KTM does not own CF Moto, they entered into an agreement to produce certain KTM bikes in China. It’s that agreement where KTM has a 49% stake. In fact KTM is itself 49.9% owned by Bajaj in India. CF Moto is entirely Chinese owned. The bike doesn’t do it for me, ruined by the shovel on the back wheel and the wrong way round iPad on the handlebars. Given it’s a 100% Chinese manufactured bike £7,500 seems a bit expensive and the depreciation will be horrendous, if you can find anyone to take it.

I tried a few different bikes and eventually I bought the CF Moto 800MT. it’s a brilliant bike, not just for the price you pay but just in general, it’s a lot of fun, well built and well equipped. That’s why all UK 800MT have sold out until November and the 450MT is sold out until February 2025. CF moto are here to stay and the more people who ride them the more they will sell!

@RupeWilson3 ай бұрын

@RobertKehl3 ай бұрын
Now you make me wonder who manufactures Ktm’s 790/890 cams. China has been known to rate their steel at a higher quality than it really is. Fair point mentioning the Hornet but having checked it & the GSX8S out, the Hornet isn't better imo. They're just different answers to the same question. Like for like the Honda is marginally cheaper, but I preferred the build quality, styling, more stable handling & better lowdown grunt on the Suzuki. However, I fully appreciate these are my preferences & doesn't mean better, but that's kind of my point. The Honda is more agile & has better top end, but equally it felt flighty & peaky to me. I also didn't notice it being appreciably more powerful or lighter. It felt more like a shorter wheelbase & different engine characteristics. Also worth noting after all that ramble, I didn't buy either lol. BUT I would buy either over this CF Moto or a KTM for that matter.
