because in the example Arif given is that the coupon payment ($100) is paid annually. So the meaning of 1/2 is talking about 1/2 of the coupon payment period (annual), not the full period of the bond.

I wonder why the Accrued interest calculation is like that, why it is 1/2? I thought you sell it 6 mos after you bought the bond, (2 years bond)? I thought it will be 1/4 it confuses me,,, I know I'm wrong but I just want to know how to do it right, hoping for your reply, thank u :)
