It's like saying "Well what if the doc comes out and says he will have to retire within a year or two due to his medical issues..He'll go undrafted" And what if a pig sprouts wings? Even if a doctor told me Penix's career will be ravaged by injury and arthritis before he sniffs his 30s, I'd still take him in an NFL draft. There's NO way he goes undrafted short of a reason where no one would be drafted. They take good QBs that chose other sports in the later rounds. If the 8th best QB in this draft, whoever that is, says "I'm playing Baseball, never playing football" some GM is still going to draft that dude in the 7th round, just cause. Let alone Penix, who is a top 5 QB and maybe the best.

Listening to that segment, it sounded like Feldman was about to trash Penix when Eisen kind of stepped in with that story about how Marshall Faulk praised his pre-snap reads and how Faulk really knows what he's talking about. Then when he throws it back to Feldman, he sort of backtracked and said Penix is great but he's hearing things from others that indicate he could slip.

He was 5th in passing yards this year, and more importantly, 1st in passer rating among QBs with at least 100 attempts. Sure, that's easier to do on a good team, but not just any QB can do it. Goff was 9th on that list, and Mahomes is 14th.

Actually he didn't outplay the other QB. JJ McCarthy made all the throws he needed to make and there were a few drops. Pennix threw the ball 50 times against Michigan and the defense exposed his weaknesses, most notably his tendency to pivot off the wrong foot. Not to mention how easily he gets hurt. If he couldn't handle Michigan's defense he will struggle against NFL defenses. He will be a first rounder, but I think he's more of a 2nd or 3rd round player.

Most NFL Drafts experts have never played football, so to me, their opinions doesn't carry much weight. All you have to know is, the same scouts that were raving about: Daniel Jones, Mitch Trubisky, Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold, Jamarcus Russell and Heath Schuler being a can't-miss prospect, are the SAME ONE'S who passed up on Tom Brady and Brock Purdy. Michael’s past injuries has no lingering effects, he’s 100% healthy. A lot of you so-called evaluators knows very little or nothing. Michael Penix is the best passer in this draft class and his 40 is going to surprise y’all too. The compliment Marshall gave him about his pre-snap read is spot on. Michael told me he sees everything pre-snap, and he himself thinks it’s a gift. Michael Penix led the nation in passing two years in a row, that’s no fluke, yet you guys just stumbled up on him. He went to Indiana as a freshman and won the job from the incumbent. Michael did the same at Washington. Take my word he’ll do the same in the NFL, once he learns the playbook. Again most of you / these so called evaluators/ gurus are just regurgitating names, but if you really do your due diligence I promise most draft boards wouldn’t look the same.

I live in the Denver area, but am not a Broncos fan. The Broncos could really use Penix IMO. They're desperate to replace Wilson, and from a pure talent and ready to play perspective, I think Penix might be the best QB in the draft, despite everyone predicting Williams going #1, with Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels going right behind him. I don't think any of them are as good as Penix. As a team short of draft picks because of what they traded to get Wilson, they may be smart to trade down for 2 picks, and try to grab Penix late in round 1.

Some of Penix's throws over 30 yards are as accurate as if he was handing off the ball. I have been watching football for 50 years and I have never seen anyone as accurate on his throws over 30 yards, He was absolutely terrible against Michigan but their pass rush on almost every play was affecting him. Many scouts felt that Washington had the best offensive line in College but their interior of their line was exposed by Michigan and it profoundly affected Penix's accuracy he only had a few accurate throws all game.

Some teams listen to DR. more than others and would not draft him because of past injuries. I think of Drew Brees. He was set to go to Miami instead of New Orleans but the DR. said his shoulder was degenerating and Miami didn't sign him. Well the DR. was right he just didn't know how much pain that Brees was willing to play through. Brees one year removed from football can't lift his arm and can barely grip a football with that hand much less throw. Brees chose to give a life without a right arm to play several years of football and provide generational wealth for his family.

Absolutely nobody thinks he won't get drafted. If they're telling Bruce that, they're using him to get a narrative out there for their own purposes. Even with the injuries (which are more than 2 years in the past), that's nonsensical. Sure, maybe he won't go in the first round, maybe not even the second if he slides. But it is virtually impossible that NOBODY spends a pick on him on day 2 or 3. Teams are spending draft picks on camp arm QB's, huge project position players and average punters and kickers. With an arm as strong and accurate as Penix's, going undrafted is virtually impossible.

NFL QB Scouting Example - # of QB's taken ahead of these great players: Tom Brady picked 6th QB. Dan Marino picked 6th, Mahomes 2nd, Josh Allen 3rd, Joe Montana 4th, Kirk Cousins 8th, Lamar Jackson 5th, Dak Prescott 6th, Jalen Hurts 5th... now there are some top ones who panned out good but more often than not the scouts were wrong. Im a Michigan diehard and thats crazy to say Penix would go undrafted. The guy is a baller. Yes, maybe Michigan was the first NFL defense he saw but he stood tall. He gets more looks of those defenses and he will be fine. Whoever gets him will get a steal
