I'm an Als fan. The Bombers didn't look to be in game shape. Collaros's passing was off on two potential TDs, they couldn't hang on to the ball, someone bit hard on the flea-flicker, two missed FGs. Als defense was good and Fajardo had a solid game and managed to drop a TD pass over the defender's arms where Collaros didn't.
@markanthony32753 ай бұрын
It looked to me like only Streveler, Schoen and Willie Jefferson came to play. Too early to say what the team will be like but I'm already thinking they need to get rid of the field goal kicker. They had that kicker that cost them the Grey Cup against Toronto, so we'll see if they're any smarter this year. Kudos to Fjardo...he looked solid after a rocky start in Saskatchabush. The rest of his team played pretty well also and they clearly deserved to win. Never been an Als fan but they deserved to win. Always hated when Calvillo was playing against the Bombers, he would pick them apart like a surgeon. As an offensive co-ordinator I'm sure he's helping your team a lot. Good for you!

Something is wrong with this Winnipeg offense, their defense played decent but their offense was horrible. I know that the Montreal defense is a part of that but Winnipeg was able to score 24 last time they met. Could this mean the window is closed for them? Is it finally time or the Riders or Lions to take over?
@teo_heel3 ай бұрын
Decent? I guess not, because they let Als to score 27 points.

But we'll see. I think that Blue Bombers were just not in their best shape, some of the starters didn't play in the preseason, so they were a bit unprepared and it was obvious.

@@teo_heel 13 of those points were off turnovers, other than that it they just gave up 1 long TD drive, the other offensive TD was a flea flicker. If you look at just points and not actual stats it’s easy to say that Winnipeg was bad on defense but really they weren’t

Why not just go with the NFL field dimensions?
@teo_heel3 ай бұрын
Because it's CANADIAN FOOTBALL, not american football. It's a different game. Bigger field, 3 downs more players on the field, goalposts on the goal line, 1 yard of neutral zone between OLine and DLine before the snap, waggle (forward movement of receivers before the snap), no touchbacks (singles can be scored on any types of kick, be that punts, missed field goals or kickoffs), no fair catches (kicking team must gave the returner five yards halo of free space to catch the ball or they will be penalised (15 yards from the place when the return ended), but there're onside punts and punters in general can retrieve the punted ball to gain possession and new set of downs, all players who're behind the punter can also retrieve the ball and both punter and player onside on the punt don't care about five yards halo)... and that's only a few differencies.
@FischerFan3 ай бұрын
Because the CFL needs to make its inferior players look better than they are.
@teo_heel3 ай бұрын
@@FischerFan no. It's not about that. It's a different game from american football and it was different from american football 100 years ago as well. There're great players in the CFL. Like Marc-Antoine Dequoy, Brady Oliveira, Janarion Grant, Jevon Leake, Vernon Adams Jr. They're not NFL level players for sure, but they're very good in Canadian Football game.
@teo_heel3 ай бұрын
@@FischerFan And by the way, it's not an easy game to play. Quarterbacks must have a very strong hand to throw the ball to the sideline as the field is both longer and wider. Punters must kick the ball to the side line to not give the returner a chance for an easy return and it's not an easy task for the same reason - bigger field.

All football fields were this big until the NFL changed them. Why should Canada have to follow what the NFL does?
