So, I think that if a punt hits the upright, it's dead ball and change of possession at the 30. But I can't find if the punt is from your own end-zone, does the opponent get the ball at their 30? is that a free 75+ yard punt? (or is it the 30 of the end the upright is in?)

If the punt is from your own endzone it's a live ball.

I feel that if a ball hits the goal post is should be live until it hits the ground , for both kicked and passed balls . In other words it should be treated no different as a tipped pass. It would make the game more exciting.

1:27 ABOUT BLOODY TIME! But unfortunately it hit and goes in, that counts. No debate there (unless your nuts) But hits and goes out, there is the debate in my opinion. Especially as it was once a live ball until a play resulted into a TD. Fans got upset and changed it (the wrong way in my point of view). It happened in the 60s or 70s, told it was Stemp 1963 the game happened and was turned next year but 70s had changes too. Thus, let's open up the chat again ok? Geez...

Last post mate, Just want to say you don't have to do every kicked ball hitting the post plays that go out every since it went from live to dead. Let's get just enough to have a discussion about. Heck, the score changes isn't much (game final has to be 5 or less). Only game I can think of right now is 2022 regular game between Montreal and Winnipeg in which my rule change would have had Montreal win by 1 w/o OT. They still did, but in OT. 2001 Grey Cup, I have changed up the scores but Calgary still wins. Westwood did a kick post, but just 1 in the end, not enough. While this change rises the scores a lit, my idea to change the converts (kill the kick, be a 2 point attempt or KO w/o it except in OT) would likley drop it more as 2 point converts are 50/50. 😊 Cheers mates! That is all.

I actually didn’t do every dead ball FG I know of, only ones where it happened multiple times or where it had a significant outcome on the game. But yes there are a lot of them.

@@cflhighlights9370 sir I understand. You did your best and hopfully it's enough I can use it to discuss soon on FB etc about my rule change idea. I can only remember one or two games the outcome would have been different but no need to do that. Heck it only be so little it wouldn't do much to the final standings and the playoffs/finals match up, let alone who the 2 face off in the Grey Cup (it would impact the game itself, but very unlikely it effect it the make up of 1 or both teams would be different match up) Hope I'm understood, as my eyes have gone cross-eyed and this Cranhaven Lodge is a hell hold I live as snice EVERYONE TALKS TOO LOUD ALL THE BLOODY TIME! Tip of a very large iceberg... :)

I love this "upright" compilation. It was funny. Did you try to find the one clip of Vince Faragamo hitting the upright on a pass attempt when he played for the Alouettes in the early 80's?

Ok mates here is my idea for a rule change (been in mind for 20+ years and being Australian not Yankee, it stands tall) 1. Pass (or run but dropped): dead ball, lose of 1 down or if 3rd down, overturned to other side. 2. Kick (technically any kicking play that goes into endzone, posts are apart of pretty much, but it's especially so for FG attempts): a single/rouge point (unless it hits but goes in, that's 3) but the other side takes over by 45 not 25 (now it be 50 not 30, prefer the old as 50 is too close to midfield). Thus they get 20/10 more yards than before (2 or 1 less play to do, ironically also size of endzone lol) and I argue benefit more than the other desbite a point gain. See? Let's make Canadian more Australian (our single point, called Behind, can still be so if a kicked ball hits a tall post. We do it, why not our siblings in the true north too? Let's blow the Yanks, our removed cousin lol, away with a similar rule eh?)

I don't think a pass off of it should be a dead ball. But im not the sharpest knife in the drawer

Now, I'm sorry for all CFL players, but when you're near the End Zone, don't you have to adjust all routes when you know the goal post is in play, especially if you're in your own End Zone?

Usually they’ll run to avoid a safety. Not too sure if coaches change strategy because of the uprights, but I imagine that as long as the quarterback has someone in mind to throw to in can plan any adjustments before the play.

CFL Highlights, where is it by kicking play? Let's do something to discuss about changing in the sport/proffersional league ok? Passing plays that hit the post, nothing wrong there to discuss and I bet over 95% would agree. Do another video please...

I once believed that when I frist saw it in 2001 (after 9/11, and by 2000 American Football was boring to see) but it wouldn't work as it would make it harder to attempt FGs with 20 more yards to ad (assuming its at 35 yards and we add 7 as the kicker must kick further, thus 42 attempt which is hard but just in range. Now it be 62 yard attempt. Too much to make it successful.) I do like trying from say behind the C/55 but only to try as a punt is more likely in the end. Now instead of being from 60 yards (say 50 yard before crossing mid field or so), it be 80! Impossible! Endzones could go from 20 to 15 as it used to be 25+ (BC place did 20 in the 80s, and soon all did) but that isn't necessary (especially with the single point). 15 should be for the No-Fun League/American Football, and 10ish be for Rugby (idk how much Try is but it's not big) In conclusion, no way mate. Instead, let's do Kicked Balls hitting the posts going out being dead balls instead of single point (used to be live, now dead) ok?
