With Instant tents you ALWAYS fully extend the top poles first. Found that out the hard way with my Coleman Instant Tents.

DigikidForever yes that is correct as I found out too. That is why on this video I said first time set up. 👍

I think this is i nice tent to get. :) I rate this 9/10

Notice how much the guy setting it up struggles to move it around as he unloads it? That is because this tent weighs in at just under FIFTY POUNDS, without the outer cover (which is NOT available in the US). Not exactly one you just throw on your roof rack or move around much without a dolly.
@cfmelz4 жыл бұрын
lenf2 thanks for the comment. Yes it is heavy to move around.

@@cfmelz DiggerMel Yeah, I noticed that when I got mine. I ordered it from Amazon without noticing the weight in the small print, and was very surprised to be presented by UPS with this behemoth. I also ordered the larger top cover which will make it about 10lbs heavier.
@cfmelz4 жыл бұрын
lenf2 I hear what you mean. In my case. The tent is great as we do a lot of camping. And it’s perfect for 4 adult and also the truck that I got it fits perfectly. Hopefully you have found the tent great.

@@cfmelz I haven't had a chance to use it yet, just got it a few days ago. My plan is to open it up in the next couple of days and weather proof it with some seam sealant, gorilla tape and silicone weather proofing. I hear this tent leaks pretty badly if you don't. I bought the extended rain fly as well, after hearing that the one it comes with doesn't give very good coverage to the windows. I have a 4x4 GMC Yukon that I am converting into an "off road camping" vehicle, with 7' roof rack, 16 gallon roof water tank, and a new positraction rear end. I also picked up a used 10x10 zipper side canopy to extend the "porch" area of the tent. That and a 10x20 tarp shade tied to the SUV should give my wife and I plenty of room for everything. We also bought a 1500w generator to charge the 400aH batteries and3000w inverter (still to be bought) to power a small fridge and the water pumps and lights. We chose this tent because my wife's idea of "roughing it" is going to a motel that doesn't have color TV. So I also had to get several sleeping bags (flat and mummy type) as well as a queen size 15" thick air mattress. Next thing you know she will want me to put in air conditioning (she already has hot and cold running water and a shower/toilet room and a full kitchen with a grill, camp stove and 18" gas griddle). I keep telling her the idea of camping is to got minimalist, she says these things ARE minimalist, lol. I think it would have been cheaper and easier to just put wheels on the house and take it.

lenf2 wow!! That is an amazing set up you got there. Really. awesome mate. I have had my tent out in heavy rain. And the cover that it comes with was great. Did not leak one bit. I also have got the 6 man tent for when it my son and I which is great too.

Now the question is, how hard was it to fold it back.
@cfmelz8 жыл бұрын
To be honest it took about 15mins to put it back in the bag.

they make the bag extra big, but it's not nearly as easy as setup.

Hi there. Still happy with this tent one year later? Looking for a bigger tent for the summer holidays and considering this one.
@cfmelz7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jacque we have used the tent a number of times and it has been a great tent there is plenty of room inside to stand and fit two queen size mattress. You can make it into one bed room or two rooms with a divider in the middle.

bought this but worried it's too small... are the 10 people supposed to be stacked?!
@cfmelz8 жыл бұрын
David Black I believe that you are right! It is not realistic to expect to fit 10 people in this tent comfortably! When I take it out we comfortably fit 2 adults and 2 teenagers and beds and miscellaneous camping gear!
@DavidBlack1018 жыл бұрын
DiggerMel thanks for the reply. My kids are a bit younger than teenagers so hopefully wont need to stack em!

I'm sure you will be fine. I should of recorded my last trip on how I set up my camping gear.l didn't have time but I will record it next time and upload it in the near future. Good luck David.

Coleman sometimes exaggerates a teensy bit about its tent capacities (LOL!). I think when they say 10-person tent, they usually mean 9 adults and 1 child! A LOT of people who bought their tents say, for example with a 6-person tent, they were only able to fit 5 comfortably. If they tried getting six adults in with the camping gear, it was a bit cramped.
@faithrada5 жыл бұрын
Tents are rated for max capity... no equipment or walking space. SO... 4 "person" tent typically handles 2 people & their equipment. A *6* person tent typically handles 3 adults & equipment If I had 10 people with all their equipment... for a whole week.. figuring it might rain at some point... I'd personally get TWO. *10* person tents to be comfortable. Plus a seperate cook tarp for Sun / Rain protection. Can't have enough good tarps... seriously. : )

Chant'e M Jones hello. The frame is clip on the tent already it’s a matter of pushing the clips to collapse it all together again, to put it away.
