@@ace_king9360 The price difference is a key thing. However, I live in Thailand most of the year. I ride a KTM 390 Duke, and went to the CFMoto shop to enquire about a CL-X700. They hadn't heard of it. This was over a year ago. I've been round to them since [it's only three km away], and they seem to be scaling down the number of CFMotos they are stocking in favour of another Chimnese brand you see a lot of in Thailand. Very cheap bikes, can't remember the name. I'm not sure, in fact, if the CL-X700 is available anywhere here. I'll have to enquire again. The nearest Yamaha dealer is 190 km south of here.

My only response to that is you will find more videos about the negatives with any machine because people want to be heard when they have problems. When they are having a flawless experience, they focus on continuing to have fun with their machine and aren’t worried about being heard because they’re content. I hope CF stands behind their product though. They’ve delivered on value with their machines, now they just have to continue to support customers who support them. How would you say this would fair as someone's first bike if they started in eco mode? I know you said that the sport model was a little too much for a beginner so I'm wondering that that applies to this as well
@Omni_Moto2 жыл бұрын
Could you start on this bike? Yes. Would you need to be pretty responsible and confident going into it? Also yes. Eco mode dials the acceleration back significantly from sport mode, but it is ultimately still the same amount of power by the end of the rev range. If you want to see that, check out my CL-X 700 Sport review. I did a side-by-side comparison of the throttle modes and their power delivery. If you start on this bike, do it with caution and ride at YOUR level. This is more of a novice/intermediate bike for a semi-experienced rider. Whatever you decide, just make sure you are riding safe. 👍

@Omni_Moto2 жыл бұрын
@@coryadum9481 The V-Strom is more ADV-esque, but if you really want a play bike, it's a great option. You could also check out the Honda Africa Twin since you're of a more broad build. It would be super roomy for you though, which is something you're going to need. Here's my review of it. A seriously fun bike in any situation. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXmZe5mfaq-noMk You should also consider the Tenere 700 though. Has the same motor as the MT07, but in a larger frame with a taller seat height, and it is basically just a massive dirt bike. The only problem with the Tenere 700 is that it's damn near impossible to find them, so if you want one, you'll likely pay a premium. If you want to stick with the naked sport bike though, the MT-07, SV650, Z650, CB650, or the new Honda Hornet 750. You can go with a little more power as well and go for the Z900, MT-09, or Duke 890. Hey, thanks for your question! Not sure about the GSXS 1000, but this bike has a ride-by-wire system so you can actually change the throttle mode to be more friendly in eco mode. If you want a more spirited/responsive throttle feel, you can switch it to sport mode. I thought in the lower RPM range the CL-X felt very good in eco mode. Ah, Paul, I am saddened to hear that. The word "boomer" is a blanket statement. Perhaps I should have chosen better, but just as you say my statements are uncalled for, so are the statements of individuals who think any product to come from China is automatically inferior, cheap, evil, and contributes to "taking down the USA". @iforc2 жыл бұрын
I highly doubt anyone thinks that. I have to say, both your arguments are pretty bad. If no one buys the bikes then the dealerships won’t buy more. Also this could easily be a foot in the door of said plan. A much better argument is simply that China already owns most of Hollywood and a bunch of our land as well as China also manufactures most of our daily products. Probably much of the parts of the other bike manufactures. I mean people are wearing bikes and texting on their iPhones but will complain about a Chinese made bike?
@Omni_Moto2 жыл бұрын
Hey, iforc, thanks for your comment. Since you highly doubt anyone thinks that, here’s a link to some proof lol. --> imgur.com/a/xAvgbjR And yes, you’re right. If retail buyers decide to stop purchasing CFMOTO, then dealerships will stop buying them. There is a market for 300cc bikes though, and US based dealerships retain domestic profits from their transactions with US buyers, regardless of product origin. If the foreign [motorcycle] is imported, then the foreign party gets a profit on the wholesale transaction. That [motorcycle] sells at a US based dealership, who bought it from a foreign party, and generates a profit for the US based store. I don’t see the problem, and I definitely don’t think CFMOTO is a “foot in the door strategy” of China’s “plan” 🤣 I appreciate hearing your input though, and will do better moving forward. I’ll just provide screenshots in the video next time to avoid any doubt 🫡

...and when you buy that bike, the dealer orders another one. If nobody buys the bike, the dealer never orders another one. Also, most dealer stock is financed by the manufacturer, they haven't paid cash money for what's on the floor. Not arguing one way or another just pointing out the HUGE flaw in your argument.
@Omni_Moto2 жыл бұрын
We can agree to disagree, and that’s fine. I stand by my argument. You’re correct about dealer stock financing through the OEM. Typically 0% interest up to 30-90 days depending on the OEM for the floor plan. The domestic profits come when they make a unit sale and payoff the OEM floor plan loan on that particular model/unit. Then, yes, another one gets ordered, and the cycle starts over. If there is profit to be made, that’s generally positive for the business and the local economy since more money has been transferred. The whole goal of a business is pretty simple though - be profitable by selling items for more than you purchased them for. The profit created through the domestic transaction stays local, and is retained to grow the business in order to purchase greater quantities in the future. Here’s the problem with “if nobody buys the bike, then dealers won’t order more”. That’s true, 100%. The same could be said for any Chinese-made product. The consumer value is there for CFMOTO though. Everyone always jumps to “CHINA BAD, AMERICA GOOD 🇺🇸” For CFMOTO, they make retail products with nice features and good fit/finish with affordable cost to consumers. Unless negative things happened with their products like bad quality control/people getting hurt, there would have to be significantly increased import tariffs on CFMOTO products for consumers not to consider buying a Chinese brand. CFMOTO gets their profits from dealers, and dealers get to profit from consumers. It’s capitalism. I appreciate your comment and point of view on the subject though, and appreciate your educated well-written response.

@@Omni_Moto I may very well be buying a CFMoto bike. It's just too good of a deal.
