Beautiful. Thanks for a very enjoyable video. I’ve been out there a few times and we’d stop in 89 degrees and put our cold weather gear on before heading up over those passes. It was pretty weird layering up in the heat! 😅

Heated seats are under-appretiated. Even in the summer they are handy if you have to ride in prolonged rain.

Really enjoying watching your trip especially this bike and your reviews i have a 2020 vstrom 650xt but i need something with better suspension was considering doing the upgrade you did with front forks but looking at the cf moto with everything it has. Do you think its better off road standard then 650xt or more top heavy, was heat off engine an issue what your opinion on build quality ,please would love your input watch all your vstrom upgrades

Hello there sir, good to hear from you. The Ibex is better in every way than the 650XT except for one... the fuel mapping is not very good on the Ibex which can make it a little difficult to ride off road in more technical terrane where precise throttle control is needed. The chassis, suspension is far better than that of the v-strom. The Ibex has longer suspension travel, is sprung well and is fully adjustable with proper upside down KYB cartridge front forks. The chassis is the same as the KTM 790 Adventure and is really competent in the rough stuff. There is rumored to be a software fix out there that improves the fuel mapping quite a bit but I have not had any luck getting that update here in the US as of now. I cannot recommend this bike as a good off road bike in good faith at this time to anyone. If CFMOTO makes good on the software update and gets it out to its customers here in the US and the fueling is good enough to be used effectively off road then I could recommend this bike at that time but I am from Missouri... They are going to have to show me the beef.... good luck with your bike search and thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)

Really appreciate the good advice the fueling here in Australia supposedly has some upgrade but still exploring if better. ALso biuld quality do you think it's going to last. How would you compare your tiger off road to ct800 is it equal [ which yr tiger is yours]

@@gavinrosenzweig2552 The build quality of the Ibex is on pare with Japanese and European built bikes today. The bike is made with quality components just as you would see on a Triumph or high end Japanese bike. I see no reason why this bike would not give the same amount of service as one would expect to get from other high end machines. The Ibex has very good suspension and is sprung correctly and performs quite well off road but lacks the travel of the Tiger. It also has a 19 inch front wheel so it performs well off road for what it is but I cannot push the bike as hard as I can the Tiger. The Ibex has good ground clearance as well... about the same as the Tiger. My Tiger is a 2019 800 XCx... Thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)

hey ozark, i just picked up an ibex 800 and am looking for a soft bag option instead of the aluminum cfmoto ones. what are you using and did they work well with the offset of the exhaust bracket?

Hello there sir, good to hear from you. Congrats on the new ride. I use the Tusk Pilot panniers on both the Tiger and the Ibex and love them. They are a bit involved to mount up on the bike but are great to use daily and on long trips as well. The bags have a heavy heat proof matt on the back side that protects them from the muffler heat and the muffler on the Ibex has a good heat shield as well to protect the bags . I have ridden over 5000 miles with the bags on my Ibex with no issues. I can highly recommend them. I leave the bags mounted to my bike when traveling and just slip out the inner fold down liner with contents and take it inside the motel with me on overnight stays. When camping I don't bother removing anything overnight. Tusk also has these bags with a hard mounting plate that slips onto their racks for quick mount and dismount. However they do require the Tusk racks to be mounted on the bike and I doubt if they offer a solution for the Ibex as of now... The offset right side rack is no problem the bag works just fine with it. If you go with these bags be sure to get the large drink holder bags that mount to the front of the bags... These things are what you did not know you cannot live without. By the way you can also get over a weeks worth of socks and under ware shoved into one of them.... so I have heard... ;) I leave the bags on the bike when I go to the car wash and give them a good wash as well... they don't leak and all my stuff is in the waterproof liner inside even if they did... good luck and thanks for watching... :)
