U r absolutely right.... I did my B. Com+PGDFA (financial analysis)(distance) + CFP as I wanted to go into wealth management field so I did CFP as its a professional course.... But couldn't find any career opportunity in that field especially for freshers. As I couldn't find better opportunities I am doing trading n investment for myself now... It's totally incorrect to say CFP does not have value. How can people compare CFP with CA? CA is master in company finance corporate and taxation. If check the curriculum of CFP it's about individuals finance management.. and yes it's a hardcore sales job profile that's true...

The thing is CFP is not known in india because most Indians can’t afford CFPs. CFP caters to a very small group of HNIs. These HNIs travel to US or UK to get CFP professionals to allocate wealth into tax haven countries or investing into investment products like insurance or fixed incomes.

@@Sandeesh_Srikantam first of all u need to have 50crores plus assets only then a CFP would come to u or u doing to them. They charge 0.5% to 2% depending on what kind of CFP u have. If u have a CFP who is investing ur money into different investment products(VC fund/private equity fund/portfolio management) they would charge less than 1% of ur capital. If u r hiring a CFP to save ur taxes then they can charge u 2-4% depending on how much they save.

In my opinion, I would suggest you to aim for a better college for your graduation and while in your graduation earn some certifications and skills which would be relevant for your job. I said better college bcz you might get placed in some company on the basis of your graduation, and once you get your job then start preparing for CFA simultaneously.
