I’m convinced there will NEVER be anyone who will compare to Roy. There were also extremely talented and very funny entertainers in his era.

Wow, Carl, sorry about your step-father, he sounds like a great man that appreciated great music and great instrumentalists. Roy Clark could really play a guitar on that odd-couple episode.

As the story goes, a reporter asked Eddie Van Halen what it's like to be the greatest guitar player in the world. Eddie replied, "I have no idea. You'll have to ask Roy Clark.". I hope they story is true.

Jimi said that too. I am told.

@@charlesalexander2492 Actually, Jimmy said Rory Gallagher, although there are also some folks that say it was Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. There is also a time when he did say Roy Clark. Of course, when you take in account that Jimmy Hendrix didn’t really care about trying to compete he was more interested in the love of the music and playing the instruments so he actually may have said all of them at some point in time. on one TV show he was reporter to his said when ask how he felt about being the greatest guitar player, he said well, the greatest in the seat anyways. Trying to downplay himself. But all the greats always name somebody else even Jimmy.

I recognized everything about it as Roy... but having not heard it in so long I'd forgotten that it Opened so serious and then pivoted,,,
