I remember this was a big FRIGIN deal. Won two years in a row too. My dad had their victory poster all mounted and framed...I ended up breaking it like 15 years later.

My mom and dad might have watched this very newscast. In the middle of all of that excitement, little five-year-old me was in bed about to enjoy the weekend, remembering that Friday. Might have been the day brought Barney In Concert for show and tell. My dad's a huge Detroit Tigers fan but we would have celebrated this win (and the following year) like we did when the Raptors won the championship three years ago.
