The story?...:
00:00 - 00:13: Lelouch meets CC (CC starts to fall for Lelouch)
00:14 - 00:40: CC comes back from a mission to find Lelouch not in the living room as he usually was. She finds Lelouch in a back room, and goes in, sitting beside him on the bed. CC asks Lelouch what is wrong, and he tells her that a classmate, Shirley, invited him to go to a concert with her. He was late, and when he reached there, Shirley was crying. Shirley tells him that Zero killed her father and then kisses him. Lelouch felt bad about killing Shirley's father, and CC comforts him.
00:40 - 00:56: Lelouch reflects back on Shirley's kiss
00:56 - 01:03: CC reflects back on kissing Lelouch and wonders if Lelouch forgot about that
01:03 - 01:05: CC starts to feel jealous
01:05 - 01:20: CC was on a mission and was asking a motor-biker for directions when she saw Lelouch in a train, walking to find a seat with Shirley and another passenger (Mao).
01:20 - 01:43: CC and Lelouch were modelling a new gundam together when Lelouch lies to CC that he doesn't like Shirley [anymore]. (Sorry, Shirley x Lelouch fans. I just don't like her :P)
01:43 - 01:45: Lelouch still misses Shirley a little and reflects back on the night they were supposed to go to the concert.
01:45 - 02:13: Lelouch comes in from a mission looking troubled. CC asks him what's wrong, and he puts on a smile instead and insists that he's alright. Just then, Shirley calls him and asks him out to a Ashford Academy club party/prom. Lelouch tells her he'll think it over and hangs up. He doesn't know what to do, and CC comforts him (again), feeling sad. In the end, Lelouch lies to CC that he's not going to go to the dance with Shirley and that he had arranged a mission for that day. However, Lelouch decides to go to the dance with Shirley.
02:13 - 02:30: CC remembers the times she had with Lelouch (This is when he is away at the Ashford Academy dance with Shirley). Just then on the radio, the reporter informed everyone that the dance at Ashford Academy had been attacked, and they believed Zero was there. CC then rushes off to rescue Lelouch.
02:30 - 03:11: CC arrives to find that most of the students escaped but Lelouch was still there. She asks him if he's alright, and then tells Lelouch that she doesn't like anyone. Before CC could help Lelouch, she gets shot by the enemy, who'd come for Zero. CC kisses Lelouch, taking them to a different dimension (I don't think this is the right word) so they could escape. They arrive on a floating platform, but CC, having used up too much power, falls from the platform. Lelouch activates his gundam and chases after her, screaming at her not to put on such a sad face as she dies.
03:11 - End: Lelouch remembers memories of CC, realizing that he actually liked her.
So yup. Stupid story, sad ending. There are too many happy endings. CC dies, Lelouch realizes that he likes CC, and Shirley realizes that Lelouch doesn't like her anymore.

As much as I love Shirley and Lelouch together, I have to admit that it was one-sided for the most part. He loved her enough to cry for her and try to save her, but CC and Lelouch had many more touching moments.

Feeling sorry for Shirely is like looking down on her. She's a strong girl. She lost her father to Zero but still loved and believed in Lelouche anyway. As sad as Shirley's death was it could have been avoided had Shirley went with the police officer instead of running off. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that she's at fault because Rolo killed her but it caused a lot of grief and trouble for Lelouch. Everyone blamed him for her death afterwards and who else kept thinking how stupid it was that Lelouch was blamed for something not his fault? He didn't even know she was there and entrusted Suzaku to her in the first place. So yeah. I agree.

I know this is a bit late but I agree. I also think her death might have been avoided if Lelouch himself had not manipulated Rolo into becoming emotionally dependent on him knowing how dangerous and mentally ill he was.

Because of that he never truly ended up with anyone. I respect him because he was willing to sacrifice everything for his goal and he certainly wasn't naive. He knew he would have to get his hands dirty to do it. I don't think there was ever any chemistry with Kallen. She didn't understand him at all. She didn't love Lelouch, though

@shirleyvibritannia I want to give you a link to the announcement, but you need to give me the benefit of the doubt here. It's been knocked around in forums quite a bit. Basically, Lelouch and C.C. were meant to be a couple, but Sunrise (as you know) wanted to go maximum overkill with the unbiased fanservice. Essentially, they toned down L.L.xC.C. to the point where it was debatable. They seriously wanted interpretations to be open. As you know, he admits to loving Euphie in the past too.

It's been confirmed. Shirley's relationship with Lelouch was one-sided, with Kallen Lelouch was partial to her, and with C.C. he is dead-set on granting her true wish. It was really only ever Euphemia and C.C., with Euphie being a past love rather than a main love interest.
