This is incredible to watch! A lifetime ago, I went on a "shake down" cruise on the Mackinac. While there was no ice, it was in the fall..I have watched in AWE as when she decided to leave her mooring space, she was frozen in by 3 feet of ice. When she fired up, and turned those pumps on, she slid out onto Lake Huron like it was a fishing boat in July!!
