CGC Scam Update - How were we affected???

Clarity and transparency are key to your survival. I am genuinely very pleased you made this video. Some have been trying to minimise the scale of this issue. I’m of the mind it’s pretty severe and will get worse as this filters through to the wider market, coupled with the “how to” videos it’s as bad as it could be, until more scams and affected books emerge which I believe they will. Please do make the follow up video, we need to know how cgc is to deal with regarding compensation. The problem is even if they develop a new slab the majority of slabs on the market are the current compromised design and very little is going to address that. Please take care with buying any books of the type affected, I really don’t want any trader or collector getting caught out by this financially. Thank you for your transparency.

They may over grade the returns to keep the compensations levels down. What a mess. Glad I have a ASM #300 Raw.

Good video. Would be interesting to do a crack and inspection video of one of the affected comics. I doubt only one person has done this. I suspect that others have done the same to a lesser extent.

I'm sure there have been others. The only downside with cracking the slabs ourselves is that you won't receive any compensation and you would also have to pay the fees to get it stabbed again. But I agree with you that it would be interesting for sure.

To say the issue is limited to their list is wishful thinking. Until CGC releases transparency around all reholdered data, every high grade big book is suspect.

Only expensive books are suspect. The average buyer or those who get their own books graded has nothing to worry about. I won't lose any sleep.

Makes sense ASM 300 was a target book. Modern, plenty of copies available.

Yes. So many 9.4s and 9.6s that could have been swapped into 9.8s.

I think I say this in the video, but one of them looks like it could be less than a 9.8. Nothing color breaking, but 2 or 3 small indentations. We'll see what they say.
