Awesome tool! But why nobody tells about licensing? Because every time you have watched the video, you're surprised and excited, you download and use everything was described, you're ready to show your creation to the world and get a chance to have some popularity and bucks, but while it's rendering, you are reading the EULA and then... "You are restricted to publish and/or sell the product created with this blah-blah-blah". Would be great, if amazing people like you, who are searching for and finding this gems and share it with us, also tells not only "how", but also "where" we can use this. Previously, I used another well-known method with third-party software, an extension in Chrome and an addon in Blender. The old method was more cumbersome and complex than the new method described in the video. Thank you very much for sharing this useful guide!

Yeah, I did too. There was a pretty annoying workflow to that other well-known addon. That one required so many things that could go wrong, and I spent hours redoing the whole process

I purchased this addon in 2017 while I was using 3ds max , as 3ds max was lacking too much of capabilities (still and slow 😀) but blender back then was not that good option for archviz at least , now I can't turn back to 3ds max since blender 2.81 , and this update is fire ! thank you for informing us through your great videos , you were the first channel to make me endorse into blender since the photogrametry video

CityEngine software is really good if you need to create cities that do not exists or like old cities. many governments are using it to replicate their cities and work on it as it can be linked to many other software to maybe do traffic simultaion.

I imported data from a capital city and it worked perfectly, I wanted to try it for my medium size city and it imported a 2 dimensional object, without height. Is this just a coincidence and I made another mistake, or is it that Google doesnt have detailed data for non popular places?

I bought the add-on and followed your tutorial exactly. I selected a small area of Washington DC (around the white house) and while the image overlay is correct, the model is mostly flat, just lumps where there are buildings. Is this because DC has not been 3D scanned? I feel like I wasted my money.

Worked perfectly, thank you. Ran into an issue along the way with error 403, if you need a fix, its down below Error 403: My problem was that my Map Tiles api wasn't enabled on the google platform even though I thought it was. After enabling and making sure it was indeed on, it worked. Try restarting blender after re-enabling the api if the issue continues

I seem to have run into a problem with the materials. Even though I adjusted the nodes for the material and clicked on Replace Materials, nothing seems to happen and the city would still not interact with the light source. Any guesses why or any tipps? 🤔 Also I'm very unsure if I had selected the right material, cause I edited the Material "Material_0.162". I tried it with other Materials too. Also I have noticed that my Principled BSDF looks a little different. (I am currently using Blender Version 4.0)
