Thanks for posting our short film @CGMeetup, and I'm delighted to read the positive comments. We're actually a software company that produces visual effects tools, but decided to make a film in-house to make sure our tools worked in production. The golem was our own creation lightly inspired by the Iron Giant and on the technical side he is completely hand animated along with all of the soldiers that he fights. We had a lot of concessions to make with the story and scenes unfortunately, but are happy with how the film ultimately turned out. The film has a lot of subliminal meanings that we tried our best to convey. The film was definitely overly-ambitious for having never done one before, but we persevered and brought on the right team to make it happen. Internally it was a huge win for us and it opens the door to a possible continuation of our Golems life story.

This is truly beautiful. Superb animation - what's not to love about it. Excellent graphics, serene music, exciting and thought provoking story line, and it has the possibility to expand and become a great series, or even a full length movie masterpiece ! Long Before there was life, in the surface of earth, There we're giants made of Ash and Stones that walk endlessly in plains. like ants marching with no direction, they we're huge, eye's glowing and gleaming with blue like that of the sky. Many years have passed Barren Plains became inhibited with life, it started small and grew until eventually it learned walk, speak, and create its tools. The Giants Remained as it was like before, but one day, one of them realized how fragile these creatures are, that are walking beside them, and they became more aware of their steps as they watched and observed while marching how these creatures learned to build what they can call home. Many more years have passed, and the Giants still ever marching and roaming the world, unaware that those little creatures they once tried to avoid, are now wielding weapons and shouting cries, ready to stain the ground with blood. The Giants notice this change, and for the first time, one of them halted their march and started charging towards a crowd of people who are about to clash with their weapons in their hand, ready to slain the opposing side. That same giant then slammed his elbow in the ground, shattering the soil above and beneath, as if an earth quake struck the soil below their feet. The people then realize, the enemies we're neve themselves, but the Giants who once was neutral, but are now engaging in a conflict among the creatures they once ignored.

I think CGI should replace current Hollywood. The actors have become far too arrogant. They think too much of themselves, and frankly the "talent" has completely disappeared in the last 5 years or so. Everything made is poorly done, horribly acted, and is nothing but REMAKES of the older classics. CGI is far less expensive, and you can make up any type of desired character. Actors under 40-ish have no talent whatsoever. The Marvel stuff was the last flicker of entertainment. Now...? Nothing.

Not bad, but the stone giant feels too light. His movement are too smooth and fast for his size. Slowing them down will give him more weight and a sense of mass.

This might be a great premise. An alchemist, arrogant and egotistical, causes himself to become this form and thus be cursed. He seeks to find a cure, but aling the way, learns and humbles himself on his journeys.
