Bought Stelo on my own. It’s allowing me to figure out what foods are really giving me the large spikes. Also working on proportions size. I am a type 2 on Metformin and glimepiride. Enjoyed the podcast with the dietitians. Great information. Keep it up!

What I have found in general, what needs to be done is that health providers need to be better educated on this subject. Also, many health providers are not well educated on the care of T1 or T2 diabetics.

I love the Stelo but finding doesn’t last the full 15 days. Maybe 10 days or 12.

I have been a T2 for almost 20 years, and I think have been thru every med know to science to find that perfect cocktail. CGM's, for me have been a complete game changer. i could see why pro or semi pro athletes and their trainers would want information on how to make the best use of their bodies energy, but i think for the average Joe/Josephene this is overkill. maybe an idea would be for doctors to ask patients when (if) they get their yearly checkup to wear one for a month for additional information, then discontinue. but the companies are producing these anyway, so are just looking for additional markets to sell to. same devices, different apps? i really like the reference to diabetics who say "hey, i'm a real diabetic, why do you need one of these?" Great job, Justin!!!!

I had a dream when I was snoozing at like 6am on 11/26/24 of putting on a Dexcom. I want $100 for Christmas solely to purchase a Dexcom Stelo. The silly thing about the dream was that it was actually a G6 because in the dream I was putting an overpatch on it. I’m not diabetic but I’m not sure of my status of where I am with my a1c and would like to know my current blood sugar trend

I have been getting CGMs for a long time through Levels Health. There were definitely ways to get CGMs before they went over the counter.

Justin, you are T1. Honestly, what would be the reason for a healthy individual including athletes to use a CGM. The ups and downs of glucose when you are not a diabetic are so perfect. What type of insights can you get from knowing that your glucose levels go from 60 to 110/120 before/after eating and exercising. To me, this is just a product that is fixing a non-existing problem. Good video.

Helpful tool for optimizing your workouts for athletes.

@@clarkkent7973 How? I do not mean to be negative. I just do not see it. Their glucose ranges are not going to go below 60 and/or above 120(ish). So, what are they optimizing for? I, 100%, see the use case for type 2 diabetics. However, T2B should just use the sensors we, T1D, use. But even for T2D, if you want to eat less carb, you probably do not need a machine to tell you. You just have to eat less carbs.

That no insurance assistance claim by Abbot is more than a bit misleading, because it leaves a lot of people in limbo! If you have crappy insurance that refuses to cover the sensor even with endo's prescription, THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE COUPON EITHER! It's only if you have no insurance at all.

Lingo doesn’t have an Apple Watch app 😡 This is so maddening cuz it’s like half the price of Dexcom Stelo and these days part of having a CGM is to have it seen on our wrists. Just because the Lingo is considered a Biosensor and not CGM there still should be the peace of mind of incorporating by seeing it on our wrists

You recently told me there was a video I should make, and I lost that comment. Can you remind me what you said I should do for Friday video?

@ …of when you’re out and about being a digital nomad at the conferences and how you’ve had to adjust to accommodate your Type 1 Diabetes as compared to when you’re in your home environment with the Sugar Pixel and Glowcose, etc It was when you mentioned at the beginning of one of your videos that you had been filming from hotel rooms in different places and that you had become a digital nomad of sorts when I thought of this video topic for you to give us.

what is the glucose digital display behind you in the video. Where did you get that and is it compatible with Dexcom G7?

To change the word spike or check your blood sugar is utterly ridiculous. I’ve been a diabetic for 56 years and my parents were like oh our sugar is spiking, make sure you go check your blood sugar. I mean, these two are seem like they’re a bit radical for me.

That's when I tune out! "I shouldn't have oatmeal/banana!" Well, it's not like eating them is going to help you! The obsession with oatmeal and bananas is mind blowing to me. They are not a choice even for non-diabetics, and honestly, not worth the trouble for diabetics. And to insist in "enshrining" them is absurd. We can make our own choices, but there's zero benefit to REGULARLY consuming those food items, and the insistence on shilling for them is illogical.
@clarkkent79732 ай бұрын
They are actually great choices for non-diabetics unless you have joined the Keto/low-carb craze. They are healthy, high-fiber, whole foods.
