Once I ordered it, I had it in just a couple days. It's pretty easy to set up. The instructions walk you right through it. I've just been using it for a couple days and found it extremely useful. It beats finger sticks. The downside is it is not covered by Medicare or my secondary insurance, it may be covered in the future. The reason why Medicare is not covering it is because I was not insulin dependent. If it can help you manage your blood glucose and keeps you off insulin, it would be cost effective for Medicare to cover it. It's cheaper than insulin and GLP-1s.

Definitely some added stress when a phlebotomy maybe isn’t going the best. Very interesting to see how my body responds. The CGM is essential, in my opinion, for following the effects of meals you eat and for tracking what intense exercise does to your blood sugar. I did read that the Stelo CGM might give a slightly different reading vs. "the finger stick method" due to analysis of blood sugar in the blood directly vs. interstitial tissue collection. I will keep an eye on this, but when I first woke up this morning the Stelo CGM read 124 and my finger stick reading was 104. To me, that's quite a difference, but I will continue to monitor.

I've been using the FreeStyle Libre 3 for quite a while. However, it is prescribed, and you can't get it without the prescription. If a sensor falls off, you contact Abbott, and they send you a new one. However, I've been off my CGM for over a week, and replacement Libre 3 Sensors are on backorder till Dec. 3. It is no simple matter to get a new CGM at this point. If I call another pharmacy that still has a Libre 3, I need to have my current pharmacy transfer the prescription to them. However, if the Libre 3 is unavailable at my pharmacy... they're probably unavailable elsewhere. The Stelo now offers me a solution... that doesn't involve either my pharmacy... or my MD. I am now empowered to get my own replacement, hassle free. The purchase price is a very small price to pay to have an emergency solution. I can now keep at least 1 "spare" Stelo's on hand to give me emergency coverage. If you're diabetic, once you've used a CGM, you really feel quite naked and vulnerable without one!

@georgemoonman28302 ай бұрын
Not really necessary, just stop eating carbs. I actually recommend pairing back everything to just meat, eggs, butter and then after a wash out period try adding things back in to see what you tolerate. For me I'm happiest on mostly just red meat, bacon, eggs. Vegetables have no discernible benefit, I tolerate chicken and some spices occasionally. Sauerkraut is ok. Anything high in carbs makes me feel bloated and sluggish so I completely avoid. I've tried giving up coffee for 2 months and when I tried it again I noticed no difference so I'm ok with it. CGM is interesting but it's completely unnecessary if you just follow a few simple rules of keeping carbs as low as possible - it gets much easier over time as you beat the addiction.

I loved wearing the CGM and wore it for 8 months! (Signos) I do not have diabetes but I do have a family history of T2D. Unfortunately, I started getting itchy bumps and sores on the arm where I wore it. It wasn't the adhesive on the monitor. I removed the CGM and all the sores have cleared up. Maybe the RF/EMF from the sensor?

I have been wearing my stelo for 15 days. I also have a keyo-mojo. Here is what I notice. With my first application of the stelo on the back of my right arm, my BS was consistently higher by 5 to 15 points vs the keto mojo. I changed the monitor today to the back of my left arm. And now its consistenly 10 point below my keto mojo. So I'm not really sure how accurate it is. But I will say that it allows me to see trends and that has been very helpful. So I can see the BS spike (which I have very few on keto). I can also see what does and doesn't cause a spike. So I find it helpful, but don't think I will need to wear it more than a few months. Its 89$ a month and you receive 2 monitors that last 15 days.
@georgepatterson51672 ай бұрын
enjoying the Stelo - it records readings every five minutes, but the app is only updated every 15 minutes. So, every 15 minutes, you get three new readings displayed on the app.

Ive tried Stelo and the G7. Non insulin dependent T2D. I strongly prefer the G7, because it calibrates and goes to my watch and my insurance covers it. That said the G7 requires me to wake up for alerts at night, so I turn off phone. Stelo is great for people who cant get a G7 and it lasts for 15 days. Everyone with insulin resistance should have a G7 or Stelo!

I am not diabetic but I did buy a regular glucose monitor and got it yesterday to monitor my levels. I am on a 3 day fast now and been measuring four to five times a day and my levels are within 77 to 94 so far. When I start eating again, my one time a day, I will be measuring, my fingers will be sore. I am a Carnivore and this is more of a game for me but any information I extrapolate will be good

I got a two pack of Stelo. I wore one and my wife wore the other. Both were off by 15-30 points all the time when compared to KetoMojo meter. Also doesn't read below 70. Not ready for prime time
@PFSacramento2 ай бұрын
I was so excited when I got mine. Shipping was quick. But 4 days later it started reading 20 mg/dl lower than my Keto Mojo readings. I thought it was too good to be true to be waking up to readings in the 70s when I’m usually over 100.
@AngelaAStantonPhD2 ай бұрын
I have been wearing it now for 2 days. It is very solid and pretty stable in comparison to some others, such as Abbott's Freestyle Libre, which is horribly overestimating the blood glucose and is useless. The Stelo is way better. However, it has some shortcomings: no data list! So you can see an trend by line but not the numbers. It also doesn't have alarm if you go outside of the range, and you only have 2 ranges to choose from: 70-140 or 70-180 and nothing else. These are strong limitations, but for the price, it's acceptable.
@susangable67352 ай бұрын
Let's hope that they see a strong demand and version 2 will be even better. I'm surprised to hear there is no data list. :-( We'll have to let them know what changes we want to see.
@AngelaAStantonPhD2 ай бұрын
@@susangable6735 yes! I was very surprised to not see datalist! Just ranges and it's too large to even guess what your blood glucose was yesterday after lunch, unless you add notes, which, by the way, show up independently from the blood test curve, so you need to "mentally" work these together... It is made too much for the "general" public, whom they must assume to be incompetent!
@susangable67352 ай бұрын
@AngelaAStantonPhD , mine arrived and I'm already wearing it. I have discovered that if you are on the glucose page of the app and turn your phone sideways, you can put your finger on the graph and see the time and reading. I'm putting my data in a spreadsheet with notes and such to make it easier to deal with.

@rancid2162 ай бұрын
I received mine yesterday and so far it reads higher than my blood sugar meter. Supposedly, it gets more accurate after a few days. If it continues to read around 15 points high I'll just have to keep that in mind throughout the day.
@rancid2162 ай бұрын
Mine was still reading 15 to 20 points high after two days. On another channel person that wears a Dexcom G7 said that they get the best readings by placing it on the thigh. So I took off the sensor on my arm and placed the second one on my thigh. Have to see how that works. I contacted Stelo and said I had a defected sensor. So hopefully, they replace the first sensor.

On my third Stelo, first one out of the box worked well, very accurate. I was very happy. However the second Stelio was usually 20-30 points off high all the time. Just installed the third this am, has been reading 20-30 points LOW all day! Not very inspiring… basically just useful for directional readings at this point. Think this will be my last purchase, 1 out of 3 useful so far, will wait a few days and maybe try the 4th one if it doesn’t straighten out!

From what I understand the Stelo has 2 ranges that you can set your goal for, 70 to 140 or 70 to 180 so that if it goes higher then that you can adjust your diet to keep it where you want.

I’m prediabetic and have been using a Stelo for two weeks. It’s great at showing the effects of specific foods and showing trends but it is so far off from my results from a finger stick that I don’t know how much to trust the readings. Often the two readings differ by 30-40 points. First thing this morning CGM 82, finger stick 105.

It's been released. I've had one for a few months now. If he had an affiliate link somewhere, I would agree with you about the sponsorship comment, but I don't see one anywhere. For me, a CGM has been a game changer. But if you don't need one to help improve your health, then that's cool too!
@itsm3th3b3321 күн бұрын
@cocjeanie Did you even watch the video? I know it's been released NOW. But at the time he filmed it, he said in the video that it has not been released. So they must have sent one to him for review. He didn't disclose that, so his opinion is automatically not trustworthy. It's not about the usefulness of GMCs. It's about his review of that particular model. Of course he wouldn't have an affiliated link. NOT release at that time! Is it really that hard to understand logic?

I tried the stelo but it was off by about 25 at one point compared to a keto mojo (the most accurate) finger stick. It's cheap and does show your spikes but I'm going to pony up over double the cash to get one that is calibratable.

Apple watch will pair with my Dexcom 7. This is a new feature, but you have to first pair the Dexcom 7 with your phone. Once paired with the phone you select the Dexcom app on your watch and pair it from there. It doesn’t just pair with the watch solo. You can set your watch face so that it shows your current BS.
@jaeshasway2 ай бұрын
@@hosephine1I haven’t had any issues. The app on the watch displays the reading from the CGM in the same way the app on your phone does. They simply display what the CGM tells them via the App. It’s honestly just nice to be able to check my BS without picking up my phone. 😅
