Being a new zelda can and having just beaten ocarina of time I can say that I found this game much more interesting. The side quest felt heartfelt and touching, then having the things I'd done be stripped away was unlike anything I've seen.

This game, and OOT both looking absolutely gorgeous on 3ds. The updated graphics, sound, man... A dream come true. I've always liked MM as being the most disturbing and heavy zelda games of all.

TBrizzle01 I have always considered it one of my favorite and most memorable games of all time personally. I think anyone who actually gave it a fair chance when they were younger loved it. It's just that many people were overwhelmed at the times by the initial adaptation period required to understand the game and therefore enjoy it, which led them to just dismiss it as a bad game compared to Ocarina of Time. Over time the fans of the game like us managed to convince other Zelda fans that they just had to give the game a fair chance.

I always needed a guide to move forward on this game I couldn´t find sense on what to do next that was 5 years ago. I got it on the Wii virtual console, I fell in love with it.I´m pretty sure a lot of people didn´t played this game even though it was included on the zelda collectors edition disc.

Hello Derek! Man... I've been following the channel for a couple of years now, and I've seen some people making bad comments or jokes about you reviews. I mostly disagree, although some of them were true. What I think is that when you want and game allows, you do it great. I live in Brazil and games here are very...very expensive. I am creating a small collection of 3ds games and I was thinking if I would buy this game or not. Fact is, back in the day it was released, 15 years ago, I couldn't play it well, maybe because of the big shadow left by it's twin, but after this review, and solely by this one, I'm ready to play it again and confident I'll enjoy it a lot. The original version of this game was the first Zelda title I ever owned but I did play OoT first since my sister had it when growing up. Heck, I beat OoT before her and she had the game! Great review Derek! It will always be my favorite in the series, no matter how much someone tells me I am wrong for what I love.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about the huge changes to the boss fights. Only one boss fight remains intact. I'm not a huge fan of the changes to the bosses and their weird "eye" thing going with them. The only one that benefited (at least in my opinion, as the others were complete boss fights) was Gyorg.

I prefer the creepy kid over the popular kid. The popular kid is awesome don't get me wrong, but I had a much better experience when I was hanging out with the creepy kid. But that's just me. I was an odd person back in high school.

I have enjoyed your reviews since, maybe 2010. Thanks for the consistently entertaining uploads! I'm not a big fan of metal or Disney (except for a handful of their features), but you've got the goods when it comes to games. Kricfalusi is sick but great... shame he doesn't DO more. Sort of reclusive, a bit like Majora's Mask. His work used to be brilliant. R+S, RF, GL&JtIB, WPH, and more. Back to your review of MM. I haven't played the game, but it's on my shortlist; I've yet to rip the wrap off my copy and plug it into my >NEW< 3DS. Any day now, I'm gonna (try to) save Termina from Unicron's severed head. Oh, wasn't that s'posed to be Unicron? I was waiting and waiting for your review, just because I wanted to know what you thought of the 3D remaster. I pre-ordered two copies way back in January. "You've got a fan in me, you've got a..." I do like most of the Pixar-Disney collaborations. Cheers!!

I got a VHS tape with my Nintendo Power once, it was about majoras mask. Still got it. Preordered it like I did with Ocarina. Got this in gold cartridge the day it came out.

I got this game when it came out... I think around my birthday or Christmas. My mom got me the gold halogram version. I loved Zelda so much by that point, having played Link's Awakening DX and OoT. Then I played this... and I'm not sure what to think of it. I never got far as a kid, as in an early temple I had to roll fast as a Goron and I kept falling off the end. With the game's time limit, that really deteriorated the game for me. I didn't go back to it. Plus, that moon scared me so much as a little kid.

You say this was the first or it was uncommon for one version of Link to star in multiple games. At the time this game was released, the NES games had the same lead character and the SNES and Gameboy had the same character. These weren't hidden away in fan discussions like the more complicated theories. It was right there in the manual.

Does anyone else find the improved graphics to be a downgrade? I'm talking mainly about the lighting. Both of the remade Zelda's have this issue. Everything is so...bright...well lit and easy to see. I realize the originals were a bit murky visually due to technical limitations, but I really feel it added to the atmosphere. It gave everything a dark and sinister vibe. Having the environments perfectly lit seems to detract from the aura of the game.

I can't have been the only one who found Majora's Mask MUCH better than Ocarina Of Time. Ocarina's is nothing but chosen one/hero clichés that are in many games. Majora actually has an original and engaging story. And as the gameplay mechanics are the same in both, there's one clear winner.

Not everyone who doesn't love Majora's Mask doesn't "get it". I definitely get it, and I do like the game to an extent, but it's probably the worst Zelda game I've ever played(and I've played almost all of them). They were trying something different, sort of like Zelda 2 did but without changing the actual gameplay. It's really cool how the NPC's all have their own stories and are doing different things depending on the day and the hour. The 3 day cycle thing was and still is a cool and innovative idea, but it also happens to be what nearly kills the game. The problems that arise from it take a LOT of the fun out of playing the game. It is NOT fun to almost have a sidequest done, run out of time, then have to do a whole bunch of crap you already did all over again. It's also not fun to have all of your bombs, arrows, and other items reset to zero each time you go back to Day 1. Thank God they at least let you save your rupees! Yes, it makes sense that going back in time would reverse everything, but it does not make for a good playing experience. It just makes the game very, very frustrating.

I played this all the way up to the water temple a few months ago and I guess MH4U has kinda monopolized my time since then but I wasn't sure if I was having any fun playing either. I did look at a guide for this one and I thought I was being led by the nose. And MH4U on the other hand I just play out of compulsion b/c I'm experienced with MH3U but I think I had actual fun with MH3U.

+FuzzleLand I was one of those few people who also didn't experience it at first (and LoZ Ocarina of Time), and I tried to get into it. The story is interesting, the bosses are terrifying, and the execution is almost perfect but the 3 day cycle and focus on subquests annoyed the piss out of me. I sold it soon after because the game was like a chore. It's like - "It's a classic, you should play it..." and my reaction was...I do not like it at all...

I got Majora's Mask before Ocarina, it never struck me as an odd game. I was in middle school when Majora's came out. Ocarina didn't really grab me like Majora's. It seemed simpler, like Ocarina was a proof of concept and they really went all out on Majora's.

I had never played MM before this game out on 3DS, and I'll say Majora's greatest strengths are also its greatest weakness. Lot's of repeated content, lots of trail and error leading to wasted time, and some situational ways to advance the story or side quests. I think the art style / sound / story was the best in the series, besides maybe Wind Waker edging it out. And unrelated, I understand why people love OoT, but I could never say it was a mind blowing as Final Fantasy VII in 1997. As good as a game as OoT was, the story wasn't particularity amazing or complex. Still a 10/10 game, but it doesn't have the depth to be greatest game of all time IMO.
