Versions of bosses I prefer: Odolwa: N64 I dunno. Odolwa on the N64 felt more like a man-on-man fight to me. On 3DS, even though he can be defeated in other ways, he blocks too frequently and the use of Deku Link, even though not required, is pushed on you heavily. Goht: N64 The addition of the eye does make it so that you can't just roll between his legs and shred him to death, but it also seems like a time waster, with the changing of masks and shooting at the eye. Gyorg: 3DS Now I'm gonna say that Gyorg on 3DS is way better than the N64 fight, at least in my opinion. Even those who don't like the 3DS version of majoras mask may prefer this boss (EDIT: okay nevermind). A more badass design and a second phase which I thought was quite decent. Keep in mind that I never had trouble in the 2nd phase, but I can see where some people might have. Twinmold: 3DS I mainly made this choice as the N64 version of Twinmold felt like a pushover that lasted 30 seconds, and the blue Twinmold in the 3ds version actually puts the new eye concept to good use by making the player actually have to aim for them. The Giant's mask changes I also didn't mind. It was great to beat the shit out of Red Twinmold with Link's fists as the Red Twinmold has purposely been made more annoying. Majora's Mask: Both Not much changed between either version.

I have never disagreed with someone more. In my eyes, Gyorg in the original was a really cool looking boss. The battle starting with the camera underwater, with him looking at the platform, made you curious what is lurking in the waters. And my experience fighting him was that in the water, he was truly in his element, and you were truly outmatched - going in the water without stunning the boss first was a death sentence -- hell, one of the boss' attacks was literally just to try to make you fall into the water - in his territory. And I remember stunning him, going into the water, hitting him with the electricity, and booking it back to the platform, to safety (I specifically remember one time when I was sloppy getting out - I think I tried jumping out, but bonked instead - and as I was trying to jump out again, just as I jumped, he came from the side and ate me... was really epic) My point is, being in the water together with Gyorg was a death sentence, because it was so powerful. So for the fight to suddenly have an entire segment of you two just casually swimming around, with you waiting for something to happen feeling no threat at all, genuinely feels like a bastardization of the original boss. I was physically angry when I saw the second phase for the first time. Now, to be fair, other than that, I agree with you on the rest.

@@sunnyhvar1992 I always got annoyed at the N64 Gyorg only because I could almost never get back out of the water before he'd eat me. I actually enjoy the 3DS Gyorg a little more just because of that. The underwater section is a little tedious because you have to wait for him to swallow before you can unleash a mine. I also have to say that having him flop onto the platform to run you over was pretty scary, especially if you didn't see him until it was too late.

I agree. Odolwa and Goht were so fun in the N64 version, but in this one, they seemed rather bland, especially Odolwa, while Gyorg and Twinmold were boring and repetitive in the N64 version, I thought they were much better in the 3DS, and Majora's fight didn't changed much.

Everyone seems to be complaining about the bosses having an eye as a weak spot. My own problem is that I feel that the boss theme starts playing a bit too early when the boss shows itself. In the original N64 version, the boss theme starts playing after the name of the boss is shown which feels like an epic introduction to the boss. But in the 3ds version, the boss theme suddenly plays before the name of the boss is shown which makes the boss introduction feel rushed.

Looking back at the original fight for odolwa, the one attack that gave me trouble was a ring of fire he summoned and the moths. Seeing 3d now I feel like the whole fight was toned to be easier/annoying to fight him. Looking at the twinmold fight I am both questioning the new fight but also enjoying it greatly. Sure it's a new yet interesting mechanic to fight only one at a time, yet it's really satisfying to go fisticuffs with a worm who's exoskeleton would probably hurt like hell hitting but also choke slamming it is worth it.

My only gripes on the whole eye weakness is just for 2 bosses, because they didn't need it. Odolwa didn't need it because in 64 he was much harder via being aggressive. They could have just given him more defense against Human form, but weakness to Deku so it made sense. Goht didn't need it because he was perfectly fine. Out of all the bosses in their 64 version, Goht was perfect. But Gyorg and Twinmold needed it: Gyorg's changes were he didnt hit as hard (even with defense upgrade), and made 2nd phase where you have to use Zora form. His sucking animation is tolerable so you don't get eaten all the time. Twinmold needed it because people cheesed the fight to hell with Light Arrows. Now you HAVE to use Giant's Mask to kill the 2nd one. Twinmold needed it because in 64 version, you dont kill the 2nd worm in time, the first one came back. (unlike in 3D the first one literally explodes, so it can't come back) Good video.

Nostalgia hits me whenever I see this type of videos. It is an absolutely amazing game! I still remember the time when I defeated Goht and raced gorons to get the gold dust to upgrade my sword, but it was the final day and upgrading it into razor blade and then glided sword would take two game days. So I had to repeat the cycle and do all that again! And also Gyorg fight was way harder in N64 version, like everytime you have to first shot it and then become Zora and then attack it in water and then again get up to platform in time, or else it will chew you!

That would make sense. It was sculpted from the shell of a dragon that wished to die after growing tired of being lonely and eating those who'd encounter it. If this evil mask would somehow keep that wish to end it all, especially for being put to rest, that'd make a lot of sense.

This is the weirdest way to beat the bosses in this version compared to the N64 version. An eyeball that controls them is really creepy and you had to use different tactics to expose and hit it (even weirder when you fight one Twinmold with your bare hands while giant rather than using the Gilded Sword on both of them). But the Majora battle remains good.

I love how they made gyorg even harder in this game lol. I mean sure, the only reason gyorg is hard when you're like 10 is because you're an anxious little kid who's afraid to dive in the water but this time they force you into it haha. even still, it took you quite a while to get the timing down in that battle lol i'm shouting "why the hell is he breaking those mines gyorg isn't about to start sucking in yet don't you know you have to time it right!"

During the odolwa fight it always sounds like someone is saying " he's on foot" and "he's flying!" Idk if it's just me or not but always liked that about odolwas fight.

I didn't realize the Fierce Diety sword could throw beams. That explains why my final boss fight wasn't exactly the stomping I was expecting... I wasn't pressing L. hahaha

I like it, it makes them seem a lot more alien looking. Like they actually are wearing masks, and their true anatomy is way stranger. In the original they didn't really look like they had masks.

I haven't played this version of the game, but I like how they added a level of complexity to the bosses. One criticism I had with the original was that the bosses were too simple, compared to other LoZs.

Nah they removed any complexity from them. Odolwa used to be a very dynamic fight where a lot could happen. They changed it into him just standing there letting you divebomb him over and over again. Goht is the same except now it's not satisfying to beat him up when he falls, because now you have to stop and shoot arrows at his eye. Gyorg used to test your mastery of zora swimming by chasing you out of the water after you hit him, but they ruined zora swimming so they just made up an overdone bomb his mouth gimmick for it. Twinmold is better on paper but has an annoying thing where he heals when he burrows so it feels like the boss is just not ending. MM used to have the most unique and well paced bosses in the series but they decided to make them closer to the generic bosses the series tends to fall back on.

​@@Poefred Twinmold only rammed into you. Wasn't really interesting but 3DS should've been properly balanced. Goron Link can kill Goht in seconds. Gyorg could be completely camped out with arrows and by backflipping when it rams into the platform.

My analysis of the bosses of this game #1 *LITERALLY DOESN’T FIGHT YOU* #2 *LITERALLY RUNS FROM YOU* #3 Hides and then decided to go for a sneak attack and then idiotically decides to send in its babies to suicide bomb into you just to protect it self and then it decides to suicide bomb because it swallows the bomb like an idiot. #4 Actually formidable. But just go giant and just F that thing up. #5 *LITERALLY HELL*

Oldawa's remaster may be weaker than the original but the other 3 mask bosses are not only revamped but also can no longer be "cheaped out" during battle!!! You have to race Goht, you have to swim with Gyorg and you have to go one-on-one with Twinmold with the Giant Mask!!! Kinda makes beating all the bosses while doing the Anju & Kafei sidequest in one timeline a REAL pain in the a**!!!

That would be awesome if they made a sequel for Majora's Masm that followed along the style of this game & was even more interesting to play. The original N64 Majora's Mask is still my favourite & even though I haven't played very many of the Zelda games I don't see that ever changing but a sequel following the style, mechanics & type of story for Majora could potentially take the #1 spot for me.

cipher 6 they really only nerfed Odolwa but for the rest not here is how Goht: they made it so you can’t cheese him easily by using the Goron mask and rolling on him, the eye made it so you can’t do that and have to use arrows, it’s been a while since I played the original so I forgot how it buffed gyorg but for twinmold (the eye didn’t buff) you have to defeat the blue one so u can get the giants mask and defeat the red one, oh did I mention you can’t attack with your sword as a giant like in the original

When they first said they were realising OOT and MM on 3DS I nearly jumped at the opportunity. However, I did not make the purchases. After watching this video tonight..... I am happy with my decision. These fight made me violently ill.
